New Poser Animation
« on: June 17, 2002, 09:56:49 PM »
I recently got Poser, so I have tried my hand at creating an animation.  Doing so creates a lot of respect for others who have done so.  Making it realistic means a lot of animation detail.

This is just to illustrate what I have tried to describe to others who had asked for input.

First:
The growth should be slow.  Not just 3-5 seconds.  The growth in this video is about 23 seconds.  It really should be longer with insert cuts of facial reactions, but time was limited.

Second:
The point of view should be the guy next to her, so that means lots of closeups!  Don't just stay on a long shot.  And use shots from different angles.  My favorite is looking down over her shoulder.

Third:
Use standard film editing technique:  cut on the action.

This is just the first grow spurt.  It is pure Poser with willdials Ultimate Breasts.  No special figures or textures.  You can find it at:

in the files/video folder.

Hi subcom,

Not a bad effort !  Some excellent facial movements and camera work !  Not to mention BE (HA !)

You make some (I think) very applicable comments in your post.

I know there are a few threads running right now about what makes good BE entertainment, but I wanted to thank you for "watch_her_grow.avi", so I included the coments here also.

Generally I like slow BE growth stories, and clothed (clothing involved).  Like the girl wakes in the morning, larger, puts on her bra and finds that she is bulging out of it in all directions, and some 'reactions' from the girl experiencing the BE, favorable, surprised, disgusted.  Although, I like almost any form of BE, fast, slow, clothed, nude, etc... The only ones that I really stop reading or lose interest in are, 'and then her boobs grew as big as a house, etc...'

For animations it is really difficult (at the present time) to do clothing, and slow growth BE.  Clothing is almost impossible, and it takes character development for slow growth stories, meaning longer animations and more dialouge.  Your comment about camera cuts is very appropriate.  I should have used that technique in RDTP.  I never got any comments, but the entire body (not only the boobs), and in particular the face, changed drastically in that animation (going from an innocent looking young girl to a womanly and buxom kung fu warrior).  Better editing would have 'lengthened' the BE sequence, and highlighted the 'character' change.  A longer animation would have presented the 'story' more fully.

So, I guess, like most things it kind of just comes down to a good presentation.  I think BE only works if there is a story line or plot included, BE for the sake of BE just does not seem to work so well for me.  Things like Ricky Java's Javarelle_Informercial work (for me) because, since it's presented as an infomercial, in that case, I am mentally already setup for a short sweet little BE scence (ie, the BE scene has been nicely encapsulated into a presentation, it is not just BE).  Right now that may be the limit for animations for good BE, things like takes on, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Bloussant, anything by Ronco commercials, etc... (please fill us animators with other ideas !).

Voluminous also put out a recent BE animation.  Although the animation itself maybe a little lacking, it's got that (from Tennebrae) "mammophile dialouge".  I got a kick out of it, because of the dialouge.  Maybe again pointing out, that overall presentation is what really counts.

later,

StudioZ

StudioZ, thanks for replying.

Your work and RickyRava's inspired me to try my hand at this.  As I said, it certainly made me respect your work even more when I found how difficult and time consuming it is to make a realistic looking animation.

It seems our tastes are similar.  I tried clothes, too.  Using the same magnets I could make them expand, but trying to make them look distorted, as in too small for the boobs, is nigh impossible.

I havn't even trying getting the boob jiggle and bounce, as you have done so well.  And I agree, a storyline adds much.  And that means cuts to facial reactions, hand gestures, etc.  And that's a lot more difficult animation than just the boob growth, but it definately "sells" it.

Keep up the great work.

gentlemen (at least I'm guessing you're all guys) - seeing this thread I figured it's time for some long-overdue kudos.

we're witnessing a real renaissance (or maybe it's more like a Bronze Age) of rendered BE animation.

thank you for all of your hard work - I shudder to think how much work this stuff is. and each of you is approaching this with an eye towards really creating something you take pride in - know that that's appreciated.

ps: apologies if I left anyone out

Just saw your animation, subcom.  You did an awesome job, man!  It is definitely a great illustration of how BE animations should evolve.
