Not exactly BE news, but some info about an apparently prevented reduction. Saw pop singer Anastacia on a Dr. Pepper commercial which is the first I'd seen of her since she announced she had been diagnosed with breast cancer back in January.
For those who don't know, Anastacia is a singer who has what are in my opinion the finest natural breasts in all of pop music and maybe in all of show business (please see
Rolling Stone's galleries for verification). Furthermore she is a hardworking adult with a hellacious powerful voice and not the mewling overproduced manufactured jailbait currently so dominant on the pop charts. Her "Freak Of Nature" is one of the best disco albums ever, if it had been released in 1977 instead of 2002 she'd be owning Dr. Pepper instead of shilling for them. Although I don't normally go for this type of music it's a favorite guilty pleasure of mine. As a rapidly aging wannabe musician I also really like seeing someone first make it big nationwide after age 30 (and for a woman today that might as well be age 50). So I was rather saddened to hear of her diagnosis, I'd have a hard time thinking of anyone less deserving, and I could easily see her new fame evaporating the instant some asshole record company cokehead wondered if her contract might not be so lucrative if she didn't have those breasts.
Anyway, couldn't help but notice that she was sporting what looked like the same magnificent cleavage as before her unfortunate announcement. Figuring that Dr. Pepper wouldn't risk the backlash that would come from using "before" shots of a prominent large-breasted mastectomy patient to sell sodas, I got to wondering if maybe she hadn't needed to endure a complete mastectomy and that appears to be the case. The UK Sun just had
this update and though they aren't the most reputable source of information it certainly sounds like Anastacia is feeling great and still looking great. Perhaps somewhat smaller but nothing a little crafty garment design and camera work won't make me easily miss. I dig strong women and to see somebody get cancer at 32 and not only prevent their life from falling apart, but kick the cancer's fucking ass, is certainly something I'll be remembering for a long time. Apparently she was just on 20/20, did anyone happen to catch it?
Hope this doesn't come across as too shallow and crass - I fully realize that this disease not only threatened her breasts but her whole life. I'm just glad for her (and yes, I'm not entirely selfless, me too) that she beat the cancer in the best possible way. She still would've had her voice, and anyone who's seen her videos can attest the rest of her body is very easy on the eyes and she knows how to move it like nobody's business, but if she can have all that without losing her breasts so much the better. Hey, I'm sure she's glad about it too!
Check her out if you haven't, I think most people here would probably enjoy her videos even if you don't necessarily enjoy the music.
