"poser artist"? what an Oxymoron!!!
right up there with "responsible government".
true art is in the artist, not the pallet.
for instance... when I play a game with a "create-a-character" feature; I don't call myself an artist because I can create a great-looking character using "their" stuff.
I call them the artist, for creating it in the first place.
to put it another way... If you were to go to EA games with one of your best looking characters and the boss says
"Great looking character! what did you use? Max? Maya? XSI?"
If you say "POSER" they'll chuck you out faster than you can say boo!
heating up canned food dosen't make you a chef, snapping togeather a model kit dosen't make you a sculpter, and using poser (no matter how well) dosen't make you an artist.
I could grab poser and in an instant create a "load-blowing" character too; but I prefer to showcase my talants useing a real software package (like MAX).
I must have made 4 different kinds of women; all from scratch. same with men, children and monsters. and they keep getting better everytime I make them.
it's a long process but very rewarding.
