What the hell happens to those implants?
« on: September 20, 2002, 04:34:47 PM »
Has anyone noticed that girls who have had implants in for a while, the skin starts to wrinkle badly around the breasts? Those things should have expiry dates on them! I wonder if it's the saline vs. the silicone.

No grasshopper, its called sagging and its caused by gravity.

Remember that the next time somebody drops a big titty on your head!!

That and just the general effects of inertia (which there would be a whole lot of considering the mass of an enlarged bust) stretches the skin.

except it's not really sagging, the breasts are still really firm generally, but the skin is wrinkled, although wrinkle is not the right word, folded? For instance, look at Devon Deray (who has freakish breasts, imho) or Fantasia, or just about anybody who's had breast implants in for a while. While natural skin sagging is generally okay, on implants it looks really weird, like they are big sandwich bags filled with water or something, which is I guess what they are ....

An example of this wrinkling is in the movie Monster's Ball.  There's an actress who plays a prostitute and appears nude twice, first about 8 minutes into the movie and then in the last half.  She has one of bodies I've ever seen.

Yeah I remember noticing that girl in monster's ball with the ripple in her breast.  I think it's just one of the design limitations of implants; Tiffany Towers had this going on in a lot of the pics ive seen of her.  I believe that one of the reasons doctors "overfill" implants is to prevent this from happening (it can cause wear on the implant), but of course this also makes the implant firmer... sometimes too firm.

"big sandwich bags full of water or something" is a very accurate description of Saline Breast Implants!  Yes, the "ripples" which become visible through the skin after a while are indeed caused by folds in the synthetic rubber implant bags showing through.  I'm told it's due to the gradual stretching/relaxation of the breast skin and muscle tissue, which is initially very tight over the implant bags right after surgery and initially "hides" implant bag folds.

There are a few things which can be done to reduce this.  The first is to put so much saline solution into the implant bags so that it is completely full thus no folds.  However, this can create an extremely firm and fake "softball" appearance to the breasts (which some people love but other people hate).  The next thing is for the surgeon to place the implant bags completely under a separated layer of pectoral muscle.  The muscle is less likely to "relax" over time making the showing through of bag wrinkles less likely, but the presence of the muscle over the top of the implant can cause negative attributes such as the implants being compressed or pushed out of position when the girl tenses her pectoral muscles, very little implant bouncing, etc.

Do you know why the area between a woman's hips and the bottom of her ribcage is called a waist?
Its a waist of nature that this spot is not covered by big boobs. With other words, woman breasts are allways to small.
