Read it -- and thanks for bringing it to our attention. I'm sort of concerned. I doubt that any of us here can help her find peace; she has to find it for herself. But what a pity that even such a stunningly gorgeous woman is cowed by a very few others' perceptions of beauty. I wish we could all heap praise upon her for who she truly is -- for whatever intelligence she has, whatever sensitivity she has, compassion and inner beauty. Unfortunately, we don't get to see that side of most models, and so any kind words are worthless.

I think the problem is once again the narrow minded conformity that so many humans desire and viciously enforce even if they are unaware of it. We know we are "freaks" to the outside world. This website has to keep a low profile just to avoid the hassle. We are outside "the hassle free zone" and know it.

Wendy is unfortunately correct, the mainstream world is unlikely to accept her. But it isn't because she's flawed it's because those who run the so-called mainstream, who gate keep, who set what is beautiful and manipulate the public at large to think the way they lay out is just plain wrong. It's not the way things should be, but just are at present.

Without this sort of thing, the definition of beauty would be far different and much more widely variable. Society needs fixing and to fix society people need to wake up and see how they are shaped and manipulated from childhood on. Causing people to think they are flawed from as early as possible on is part of the manipulation.

Trying to convince someone that they themselves aren't flawed is very difficult. I know and can see the system and have trouble convincing myself that being outside this little sphere of acceptability isn't because I'm flawed. And I am not just outside of it in a physical sense (although its easier being "ugly" or "different" looking as a guy I suppose), but an intellectual sense as well. So I am unsure of what I would write to her that would do any good. My problem solving... look at the boundary conditions engineering thinking usually doesn't go over too well with women. :)

We are looking at a societal problem. There are ways to get past the gatekeepers, some do it on occasion to various degrees. All I can say is that I understand the thoughts she expresses. I've had them, just not in the physical sense. But my line of work is brain work, her's is with physical beauty, but I feel it to be the same fundamental condition.

Her website doesn't have a free login for commenting so I can't leave anything there. I also don't have twitter so this will have to do.

She's still stunning. At least in my opinion.

It was a bit surreal to see such fantastic pics surrounded by such lamentations. She really is quite stunning.

I can only think that the photographer was being a prick, for whatever reason.

Sounds to me like the photographer was just a douche who wanted to see her get fully naked and when she wouldn't, it pissed him off, so he treated her like crap.  It also sounds like he was one of those self-important snob photographers who thinks he's curing cancer or doing some incredibly difficult "work" that cannot be compromised.  I detest photographers like that, and there are many, unfortunately.

Perhaps. But she seems to be drawing a bit more than just this one experience. Other people she knows and so forth, which led me to a more encompassing line of the thinking. Also what I am getting at is that once these cultural norms are established people just enforce them without thinking. It becomes part of just how they behave towards others. In this case a clear bias for the "classical beauty". So you get this photographer but where does his biases come from? Sure he's an ass but lots of people are asses to those who are outside the norms, but perfectly nice to those inside them.

Of all the comments on that post of hers, only one was less-than-charitable (in fact, he was even more of a jerk than that so-called photographer was). So there's hope for humanity yet.

Here I am.  De-lurking again.  For someone who doesn’t like to be noticed, I have de-lurked a lot this year.

I read Wendy’s blog.
I don’t know what to say.

I actually feel sick after reading it.

I noticed Wendy a while ago back in the Sports By Brooks days.  I was flipping through looking at the pictures when I came across this little brunette who was hauntingly beautiful, which was of course Wendy 4.  I think I actually fell off my chair when I saw her, I’m not kidding.  She so stood out over the other girls that at first I didn’t think she was real.
And it wasn’t her breasts that so completely took my breath away.  (I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Brooks had a lot of large breasted ladies on his site.)  No.  It was her face.
The beautiful structure of her cheeks, the plush softness of her lips, and those eyes.  Eyes that have the ability to completely remove you from where you are when they look at you.  That make you forget any problems you may be having that day, and make you think that things will be alright.

Wendy has a face that instills calmness and tranquility.  She is right, she is not classically beautiful.  Classic beauty is just that, beauty.  It makes one think “mmm, that looks nice”  Wendy’s beauty transcends classic.  It goes beyond.  It touches your soul.  It makes you not only think “mmm that looks nice.” But “I believe.  I believe there is a higher power responsible for such beauty.”  And I’m not religious.
Her face portrays both innocence, and yet profound wisdom.

Then you start to rationalize.  “She must be an air head.  She must be conceded.  Something has to be wrong with her.  I mean isn’t that always the way?”

Then you read her blog posts.  “My god, she isn’t an air head!  She isn’t conceded.  She defies convention.”  She really is innocent and yet wise.

Then I read a blog like this one and I am sickened.  Sickened by us, as a society.  To reduce a person this beautiful, this wonderful, this together, into someone doubting their own self-worth from the inside out.

How dare you world!  How dare you’re blindness and indifference tarnish the spirit of a person who is better than most aspire to ever be.  A person who is real, yet unreal.  A person who is down to earth, yet heavenly.

It sickens me to hear a person like this be cut so deeply by a society that I am forced to be a part of.

Wendy, if you ever visit here again and read this, please, please remember, no one is perfect.  But people’s biggest imperfection is in trying to be such.  The sooner we realize that perfect does not exist, the sooner we learn to accept truth as the only measure of a person.  You are true, more so than many.  True to yourself and to those you encounter.  Truth is beauty.  This is why you are beautiful, not just to us here, but to everyone not blinded by their inability to see truth.

Sorry long post again.  I will return to lurking now.

I read Wendy's post that others are discussing (thanks for the link). It feels very much from the heart, and her feelings are her feelings. At the same time, there are some aspects that seem (and here I'm not quite sure of the word—misguided? Overly sensitive? Unfairly self-critical? Like a diary entry on a really bad day?)

She's no doubt a lovely woman, a real stunner. Her features are distinctive, strong as opposed to cute and cuddly. Her body is the same way, her breasts making her like a race car without a muffler. Not subtle beauty here, more like a punch in the gut (or elsewhere).

So hundreds of millions of women would wish to look that good, with that much sex appeal. But she is of a certain look, in the way that a six foot tall woman who's skinny with raging cheekbones and doe eyes has a certain look. Wendy's photo niche is the one she fits into; the six foot tall woman would have a completely different niche. We're talking about modeling, either for a living or for additional money on top of a living. Her look won't be accepted in one venue because of her look, while in another venue she can be at the top or near the top.

So isn't it a glass half-full/half-empty thing? Some models have The Face, or The Legs, or The Eyes or whatever. I get that the photographer probably acted like a barely interested jerk—who knows where his professional interests lie, and what a "perfect" model would be to him. And family—sometimes they can kill you with their brutal love. Or not, it all just depends on what you've got there.

Which is sort of my point, that it might be a better direction, if possible, to count one's rather abundant blessings? In the modeling sense they're all right there for everybody to see, so why not celebrate that? Sure, wouldn't it be nice to have an adorable chipmunk look, but then wouldn't it be great to have a ton of other different attributes than one was given? Yet the gifts are there, already. Just not all of them on anybody.

Sorry if this is a weird first post—the topic hit me especially hard because I'm right in the middle of writing a BE story that tries to envision a character (Dawn) who's uncomfortable with having such a slim and stacked figure, and becomes somewhat magically transformed into doing what I described above, celebrating what she has on the way to modeling for the internet (it's at mcstories and called "The Breast Way To Get the Girls" if anyone wants to give it a whirl. I'll be posting it through the summer and don't know if it's okay to link that here).

Anyway, here's to the glass being half full, and growing. :D

Gotta chime in here. Having someone as beautiful and sweet as Wendy suffer a split second of angst, whether its some nozzle shutterbug or friends telling her to wear more clothes, is just unforgivable.

I wish there was some way I could wave a magic wand and give her the solace of knowing she is one of the most stunning women on the planet, but all can do is tell her I think so.

Hope she gets the message.

I read her twitter machine daily. often, nothing remarkable to be found  there. in summary, she seems like the kind of gal that would drink Bud fm the bottle, shoot the shit with "nowhere man/everyday people" and be elegant without trying. She's special. I hope she's feeling better. Me for 1, her eyes knock me out. tks for listening. LDW

I would like to make some comments concerning Wendy.  I am most familiar with the big bobbed dancers such as Chelsea, Windy Leigh, Crystal Storm, BB Guns, Casey James, Crystal Gunns, Plenty Upp Topp, Maxi Mounds, Colt 45, Lovette, Minka, Kayla Kleevage, and Harmony Bliss (whom I talked to the most) and had the opportunity to meet and talked to them after they danced and found most of them likable and relatively easy to talk to.  I've read their bios, but reading Wendy's bio and thoughts(I know she 's not an exotic dancer or comparing her to them), she hasso much inner beauty!  She's the type of woman who has thoughtful observations and opinions on most subjects.  Read her analysis on the Chicago Bulls.  Look at the channels that she enjoys.  She thirsts for knowledge.  How many women's that you speak to is this intellectual?  How many women who are stunning as she is this thoughtful?  She is one slim stacked model that I would like to meet and would enjoy her, not just to look at, but to talk to.  if you're a straight shooting, sincere guy, she'll wind up as a great friend or mate for life with her.  I would like to make another comment on modeling and the media.  They set such ridiculous standards on beauty that it wrecks up the psyche of so many women and girls.  Thank goodness **28** such as Kim Kardashian, Christy Hendricks, and Coco are changing the standards so that being curvy is beautiful too.  Sorry for being so wordy on my first post.  I've been following this forum for 8 years and finally joined.
