I don't think anyone (here especially) has the right to degrade another person. No one is telling anyone else who to be attracted to, but there is no need for insults. If she isnt your cup of tea, why say anything? Is your goal to get a (negative) reaction?

Wow, I leave for a month and nothing much has changed.  People are still posting threads that have nothing to do with them.

Why do people, if they don't like the person in question,  feel the need to let the world know?  Especially in the most rude and neanderthal like manner.  They not only waste time but end up making an ass of themselves.

I guess some people need attention.

I like Mistress Rhiannon.  Plus I love the goth look.  It's much better than the overused-overrated-bleach-blonde-bottle-tan look.  Plus the fact that I hear nothing but good things about her personality make her a fav in my book.

I personally have always been in favour of people holding their own views, opinions and such like in fact certain XC countries go so far as to enshrine these rights in their constituition - yet over the past few years I've observed a consistent decline in tolerance to aggressive opinions.

Now, obviously there comes a point when someone passes the line between being an asshole - to being a troll perpetuating a flame war but I think that everyone needs to stop being so hypersensitive all the time. I personally feel that if someone happens to think that a big bust star is ugly, they should be allowed to do so without the whole topic degenerating into rants like mine.

The fact is that everyone has their own ideas of beauty and when it comes to stating these views some people have the subtly of a brick to the face. If you can't deal with the fact there are a large number of deeply insensitive people out in the world, then you should seriously consider never leaving your home again - sure we shouldn't have to suffer fools but until someone clears them from the gene pool it's something we have to handle and frankly the best thing to do is ignore them.

Now that my incoherent and non-sensical rant is finished I hope we can resume normal service.

Ooo, that's going to keep me going flame-free for about 2 months. Now, Rhiannon, big lips do jump out at you, but that appeals to some men. Dawn, She's tough, but that appeals to some men to. Once again.  We're all entitled to our own opinions.  As for Chelsea Charms, I think she is absolutely drop-dead beautiful and I'm sure she's not going to "pop" any time soon, as you put it.  I find THAT offensive.  She embodies femininity and that is why she has so many fans.

BTW, the 90s are over.  Old and asinine things like freedom of expression and the right to hold an opinion without a woman's permission are back in style again.

I respect your right, but I doubt you have the capacity to respect anyone else's you disagree with.

Isn't it fitting that a discussion about a woman who has chosen and cultivated an extreme look, would result in a heated and often searing discussion where respondents have taken extreme and passionate stances.

Personally, I don't care for Rhiannon's style and look. No matter how big her bra gets, I am still not getting on the bus with her fans and supporters. That's my position on Rhiannon.

But I wonder why there's so much passion exhibited here to either praise or condemn her appearance, and beyond that, how some of the respondents could so quickly abandon civility.

Sure, Rhiannon is extreme, and just as surely, you have the freedom to express your opinions about her. But, the likelihood is that Melonie is the only one of us that have responded to this post/thread who knows Rhiannon personally. And Melonie responded in a mannerly and respectful way.

The world is a harsh place, and we come to the net for time away from the stress we face daily. Must we also have the same stress here? Tone it down, or the Mod's will send this thread to cyberspace.

Good point, Mike, and yes I surely did think about my original post when I read Melonie's response.

It wasn't a strong criticism of Rhiannon, but one of lack of appeal of the other woman in the picture with here...Dawn.

Not my cup-o-tea to put it mildly.

BTW, you write a great column.  I've been following R&D since it debuted on the web.

For what it's worth, I've never met Mistress R, but I have had the opportunity to have a coffee a few times with Dawn.  She's a nice, articulate, and intelligent lady, period.  Now, she's shed an awful lot of muscle since then but I rather doubt that she's shed her personality along with it.  Her new look ain't my cup o' tea but I can tell you that she doesn't care in the least.  She did bodybuilding for herself to look and feel the way that she wanted to.  She put up with rude comments on the street from anyone who passed by, who figured that it was there god-given right to walk up to a muscular woman in sweats and a t-shirt in the middle of a store and say "you're ugly".  Saw it happen.  She put up with it because she didn't give a damn what other people thought.  I have no doubt that her new look is the same way, she's looking like she wants to look and couldn't care less what others think, she's doing it for herself.

I can respect that.
