We're so used to Munch as a classic joker that it pays to remember he is in fact very much a gentleman too, though he might be the first to scoff at that.
As for me -- this about tears it. I thought I could get by crossing my fingers, but no more. I've referred to Vix before as the "favorite house girl" of the "club" that is our Archive, and if I can't kick in at least a couple hundred myself to such a person, I'll be kicking myself through all of 2007.
Let's get my grumbles out of the way: I've a bottom-echelon working-class wage. Also, I've a lifelong friend who likewise is uninsured and is running up debts paying for expensive drugs to keep his Crohn's disease in check, plus I support the occasional charity drive of a newer friend with muscular dystrophy out in Maryland. On top of that, not only have I sworn to live in a decent apartment for once -- namely this one, where I've been since April -- but followers of my Pittsburgh Outings thread know I've been trying to juggle a local club too. Oddly enough, this news of Vix puts everything in sharp perspective -- basically, if some dancer moans "Keep lavishing more on me," I can tell her straight "You're not critically ill, sorry."
I'm frozen till Tue 2 Jan, but can snail-mail a check then. Do I actually make it out to Vixen LaMoore, or what?
I find it charming but also a little sad that she IDs her place as Forgotten Castle. My resolution for 2007: to in some tiny way help transform it into Famous Pampered Beloved Castle.
