#1) That the global warning hoax would be believed almost universally.

#2) That there would be such addiction to EverCrack and similar MPORPGs.
To a lesser degree, this includes the wider addiction to game consoles.
I'm so thankful that reading was the only escapist distraction in my youth.

I still remember seeing ads for the Amana Radarange and Heathkit versions of the contraption (if memory serves). And public safety concerns that people would end up with cooked eyes if they looked in through the window and/or cooked guts standing next to it for too long. I think Radio Shack even sold a microwave (radiation?) detector that was meant to be used just to ensure the microwave oven wasn't spewing microwaves.

Man, those things have come a long way. Now you can pick up a microwave for less than a good quality toaster.

Don't hate me because... I definitely saw this one coming.

My mother hated to cook, and embraced every technology that promised to make it easier. We had a microwave in about 1973, and were soon enjoying such delicacies as microwaved baked potatoes, microwaved scrambled eggs (yes, scrambled eggs), and microwaved anything else that wouldn't explode in there. There was never any doubt in my household that the microwave oven was the future *sigh*

I microwave only 2 things, oatmeal and to warm up my frozen hard ice cream. Everything else is either baked or skillet fired. I have a infrared Oven that cook much better than a microwave.

I don't like the flavor of microwave cooking of most things.

It's funny you should mention that. I was on the bus this morning and this grandmotherly old woman got off and gave a general goodbye to the rest of the bus, saying inter alia "And I'm willing to pay for a belt for those of you k_ds whose pants are falling down!"

we used to laugh at guys using a jackhammer that can't keep the pants on, and now they are the hoot in todays trend. Seen one [censored] with his pants half way on and the underwear cleary had skid marks showing.

The best part is that they walk funny trying to keep pants on and they end up kicking you on the side because of bad balance. But everyone has seen the pants fall and the mess afterward. I seen one going up the escalator tripping on the pants. Or dropping a tv while pants fall down.

If I was ever behind one such person, I probably wouldn't be able to stop myself from immediately trying to figure the best way to drop those elephantine drawers to the floor. Of course and unfortunately, I should also need to consider if he's packing heat before I do it. So that would surely steal any real-life thunder of doing this in person.

I had heard the baggy pants was emulating prison garb, which seems partially supported by this article. I had also heard that it signified being ready for sex.

Now why someone would want to emulate prisoner sex is beyond me. So when I see a baggy pants k1d, I get an extra laugh, as they are telling the world they are ready to take it up the bunghole
