Even though the Yankees have been getting it together of late, they're still stuck. If Boston slips and goes .500 for the rest of the year, the Yankees will need to win roughly two out of three to climb back to the top. And with their bloated payroll, they aren't going to be able to trade away their dead wood for help. No other team can pick up their contracts!
The NL West seems to be where it's at. Three teams (LA, SD, AZ) all have good shots at winning it.
I still want to see a Brewers-Indians World Series, so Bud Selig can freeze his ass off in the last week of October.
