Named after its discoverer in the early 1900's,
Wolf 359 is our 3rd closest star,
(1st: Alpha Centauri, 2nd: Barnard's Star),
about 8 light-years away, in the constellation Leo.
Science Fiction. Many appearances, including
"Wolf 359" is the title of an original
Outer Limits episode, from 1964.

Wolf 359 is the location of the epic battle
between Starfleet and the Borg,
in Star Trek, The Next Generation
episode "The Best of Both Worlds",
which is revisited in the pilot episode
of Star Trek, Deep Space Nine.
