Is Megan Fox enough reason to see "Transformers"?
« on: July 02, 2007, 11:31:14 AM »
She may be, according to the reviewer of the film at the New York Times, who generally didn't seem to like the film at all:
Quote:

Boys and their toys are in full formation in Transformers, a movie of epically assaultive noise and nonsense. Originating with the shape-shifting toys — created in Japan, rebranded in America — that transform from robots into stuff like cars and planes, then back again, the movie has been designed as the ultimate in shock-and-awe entertainment. The result is part car commercial, part military recruitment ad, a bumper-to-bumper pileup of big cars, big guns and, as befits its recently weaned target demographic, big breasts....

It’s kind of nifty when the robots transform the first time; they furiously shake back and forth like wet dogs desperately to dry off. But by the 99th time there’s no fun left at all, even during the rock-’em, sock-’em knockdown that delivers the movie, in Spielbergesque pastiche, first to a violent and then to a warm-and-fuzzy close. The actors tend to be more engaging, notably Mr. [Shia] LaBeouf, who brings energy and a semi-straight face to the dumbest setup. Just as easy on the eyes, though for other reasons, are the two female leads, the genius hacker in throw-her-down heels (Rachael Taylor) and the grease-monkey bombshell (Megan Fox) who helps Sam rise to the manly occasion. These walking, talking dolls register as less human and believable than the Transformers, which may be why they were even allowed inside this boy’s club....

Maybe.

I saw the film and thought it was really good. I loved all the G1 lines/jokes that were thrown in. To be honest, as hot as Megan Fox is, I only noticed her in the "Human scenes" other then that she (like all the humans) disappeared into the background as the robots went to work.

Giant robots blowing things up is enough reason to see the movie.

It's because those peons at Dreamworks left me out of the script!

Do I sense a sequel?

I just saw the movie and lusted after Megan Fox despite her not having much on top (beautiful face and nicely tanned belly, though   ). That reviewer quoted above is full of s-s-something I'll censor myself from saying.  The closest to large breasts in the movie was the fine cleavage displayed by a woman the camera centered on as it followed a Decepticon stomping over her (great camera work that shot). She was probably a C-cup (although I don't claim to be good at judging those things).

Overall, I thought this was excellent as what it was meant to be: an SF action movie (SF = Science Fantasy in this case). The mix of live action with CG looked even better than Jurassic Park and the fight scenes, IMHO, were incredible!

I will admit it became confusing knowing which bot was which once they were all fighting and I'm pretty sure Starscream was destroyed on screen (I just didn't know it was "him"). The only way to tell all the bots apart was that the Autobots all have bright colors and the Decepticons are always dark metal shades (with shiny highlights).

The criticism that the movie was full of placement ads for cars, etc. is true, but under the circumstances, unavoidable and actually appropriate for the Autobots. The complaint about the movie being a military recruitment promo is just stupid. The military is portrayed as being among the "good guys" in this movie and I think that critic is unable to accept that role for them. I will say that the squad leader who survived the initial attack represents what most soldiers wish they could be like. Many come close.

I can't believe I just did a movie review.
Thank you for your patience as I indulge my need to share.

If you hung around to see some of the scenes that happen during the credits you'll notice that I fly off into space to "live to fight another day" so that way my awesomeness will be preserved for the next movie. Unlike that purple junk pile who needs that piece of scrap (literally now) Megatron who's now at the bottom of the deepest point on this mudball

There's also a bravura, off the wall performance by John Turturro.

Seems weak all around, and I even waited until deciding so.

Well the kid in me came drifting atop....so...I just saw this in the local cinema!
Duuuuuuuuuuuude.

The best moment in my life ever except first seeing huge round tits !

The surely actors sucked, because of the script. A movie like this you really watch for the CGI effects. And in that this movie excells!

Wow! just Wow!

The rumor is that Unicron will appear in the next one.
