Clara Gopa and Vanya Kiara, a pair of Indonesian pop singers calling themselves Duo Semangka (which means the "Watermelon Duo" in Bahasa Indonesia) have been forced to apologise after their recent music video "Mantul Mantul" ("Bounce") was deemed too sexual.
Been meaning to talk about them (and others) for quite some time but haven't been fulfilling my civic duties around here.
Duo Semangka dance like that on youtube and instagram constantly and I just checked their instagrams and they're still boob swinging, twerking and tongue waggling away. Why would they get into trouble for just that video? Seen a tv appearance of them with their cleavages pixeled out!
Also note Cupita and DJ Vika Clara (all busty). All these Indonesian acts are as hypersexual as any pop bands I've seen from anywhere. All countries have weird contradictions and exceptions in their censorship but this is especially puzzling given there was a possibility of outlawing sex before marriage there.
