Kane is scheduled to have surgery next week but has limited medical insurance, so efforts are under way to raise money to help her cover her medical bills.On her Web site, Kane said she'd been suffering abdominal pains for four to six months before she went to the emergency room at Scripps Hospital in Encinitas on Feb. 22 and a CAT scan revealed a tumor in her pancreas.After her diagnosis, Kane canceled her European concerts and her slot in the Blues Caravan Tour to focus on her health. On April 18, she'll undergo a procedure known as a pancreatic duodectomy at UC San Diego Thornton Hospital. On her Web site, the normally zaftig Kane said she's preparing for the surgery with a veggie-heavy, high-alkaline diet that she expects will help her shed as many as 70 pounds by the end of the month.The "We Love Candye Kane Benefit" concert will be held at 7 p.m. May 5 at Humphrey's Backstage Lounge in San Diego.
