I am happy to announce that I am finally done on this thread! 5years is pretty much the point where a doctor will declare you good. Yesterday my doctor said "I think you are cured." Cured is not a common word when it comes to cancer Remission is very common, but cured is rare. I AM CURED!!! I know I've mentioned a few health concerns on this same thread or another, but I will let this thread die for sure. 5 years is pretty much the bench mark and I have made it!! PET scan said and I quote "no noticeable detection of disease!"

Congratulations !  :) Good for you ! Having dealt with cancer when my mother got it I have a good insight into its tribulations and I can imagine your relief. Normally I don't like to deal with Doctors because they have mostly bad news or they are scolding you but this is one instance where it's good.  :)

Excellent news! Very happy for you.... I myself had my 6 month check on my prostate cancer.. No change. Prostate is slightly enlarged but feel normal and my PSA went down.. He will biopsy again in January to see if gleason score is the same... I asked what was likely for a guy like me with a slow low grade cancer. He said Id probably have to make a decision about it in my mid sixties . Then again I could be one of those guys that it never takes off and really grows in my lifetime.

Congrats to you as well then! I don't know how old you are but mid sixties for me sounds like a lifetime from now! This cancer stuff is bullshit and needs to go, but since it probably won't for any time soon, relish in your good news! It's scary shit waiting to hear news and good news always seems so distant. Hard thing I learned is no news is good news. Old saying but very true!
