Oh, you jest!

Anyway, the idea that we don't have flat tax is because eventually the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer. The US tax code was initiated to do away with having a strong separation of class, and keep the middle class strong. Bill O'Reilly may tout that Obama tax system as being a socialist for raising substantial tax for the top 5% and giving the lower 60% bigger tax break.

Most of the socialist country put a cap on earning over their employees, so the incentive is to promote the welfare of the company to promote pay to everyone. Bill O'Reilly would have to pay his minion much more if he truly were living in a socialist dream.

If you ever seen Danny Devito and Penelope Ann Miller movie, "Other People Money" in how sometimes it pays to drive the business into the ground for profit. Or expect a corporate bail out on the taxpayer back, which I refer to as corporate welfare system.

I personally think this country did great things when we had a stronger middle class!

Every country does better when it has a strong middle class. Extremism of any type is bad, after all. When a country has too many rich people and too many poor people, it's bad, just as if they have too many poor people. You need balance.

Because it could potentially put thousands of accountants and lawyers out of work.

Nonsense.

A progressive tax system (taxing different income levels at different rates) prevents the centralized accumulation of wealth across generations. The American middle class was created between 1937 and 1973 by taxing income over $100,000 at a 90% rate. In 1973 the top rate was reduced to 70%; in 1986 to 48%; and in 2003 to 37%.

The present tax system has made it virtually certain that the class structure of the U.S. will become more and more like El Salvador.

PregNut really wants no tax, which gives us the society of Somalia.

PALIN: Good evening, my fellow Americans. I was so excited when I was told Senator Clinton and I would be addressing you tonight.

CLINTON: And I was told I would be addressing you alone.

PALIN: Now I know it must be a little bit strange for all of you to see the two of us together, what with me being John McCain’s running mate…

CLINTON: And me being a fervent supporter of Senator Barack Obama, as evidenced by this button.

PALIN: But tonight, we are crossing party lines to address the now very ugly role that sexism is playing in the campaign.

CLINTON: An issue that I am frankly surprised to hear people suddenly care about.

PALIN: You know, Hillary and I don’t agree on everything…

CLINTON: Anything…I believe that diplomacy should be the cornerstone of any foreign policy.

PALIN: And I can see Russia from my house.

CLINTON: I believe global warming is caused by man…

PALIN: And I believe it’s just God huggin’ us closer.

CLINTON: I don’t agree with the Bush Doctrine…

PALIN: And I don’t know what that is.

CLINTON: But Sarah, one thing we can agree on is that sexism can never be allowed to permeate an American election.

PALIN: So please, stop Photoshopping my head on sexy bikini pictures.

CLINTON: And stop saying I have cankles.

PALIN: Don’t refer to me as a MILF.

CLINTON: And don’t refer to me as a “FLIRJ”. I Googled what it stands for and I do not like it.

PALIN: Reporters and commentators, stop using words that diminish us, like “pretty”, “attractive”, “beautiful”…

    CLINTON: …”Harpy”, “shrew”, “boner-shrinker”…

You know, having worked professionally in humor, the one thing that always angers me is that the satire so often has no point. This piece does -- it makes many points. Thank you for sharing it.

Strange for a woman to support inequality in fair wages for both sex, no rights over their own body, and book burning.

Hard to believe that woman want to be submissive and vote accordingly. Well not really, as I have seen the phenomena of cult group commune with a overbearing guru telling their flock how to think and give up all their money for their fleet of rolls royce.

I think one of the problem with most school system is that they raise a lot of submissive type people that follow but don't lead. Few pressure on students to not excel or be different from their peers. I think we are where we are because of the need to conform. Hence I have been different from birth, and don't conform easily.

3de, I'll believe you're a maverick when you select an underqualified, Looney Tunes MILF as your vice-presidential running mate.

Actually, I think national sales tax would be a better idea, but it will never happen. I simply know just how hard it would be with all the lobbying back and forth to institute such a different system from the one we currently have.

Um, nope:
Quote:

New York Times Op-Ed: "Blizzard of Lies"
Did you hear about how Barack Obama wants to have sex education in kindergarten, and called Sarah Palin a pig? Did you hear about how Ms. Palin told Congress, "Thanks, but no thanks" when it wanted to buy Alaska a Bridge to Nowhere?

These stories have two things in common: they're all claims recently made by the McCain campaign — and they're all out-and-out lies.

Dishonesty is nothing new in politics. I spent much of 2000 — my first year at The Times — trying to alert readers to the blatant dishonesty of the Bush campaign's claims about taxes, spending and Social Security.

But I can't think of any precedent, at least in America, for the blizzard of lies since the Republican convention. The Bush campaign's lies in 2000 were artful — you needed some grasp of arithmetic to realize that you were being conned. This year, however, the McCain campaign keeps making assertions that anyone with an Internet connection can disprove in a minute, and repeating these assertions over and over again.

Take the case of the Bridge to Nowhere, which supposedly gives Ms. Palin credentials as a reformer. Well, when campaigning for governor, Ms. Palin didn't say "no thanks" — she was all for the bridge, even though it had already become a national scandal, insisting that she would "not allow the spinmeisters to turn this project or any other into something that's so negative."

Oh, and when she finally did decide to cancel the project, she didn't righteously reject a handout from Washington: she accepted the handout, but spent it on something else. You see, long before she decided to cancel the bridge, Congress had told Alaska that it could keep the federal money originally earmarked for that project and use it elsewhere.

So the whole story of Ms. Palin's alleged heroic stand against wasteful spending is fiction....
