Speaking as an outsider to the US, the hyper-partisan nature of the politics of this is quite ridiculous.
Trump was supposedly responsible for 400,000 deaths, all by himself. Biden, with vaccines and better treatments, has had over 600,000 deaths and it is anyone's fault but his. Pick whatever scapegoat you want, the unvaccinated, the state Governors etc, at some point in time Americans will have to wake up to the reality that this adminsitration is not taking responsibility for pretty much anything.
I know I will be labelled a 'Trump lover' or a right-wing advocate for saying that, but these days anyone sensible and centre leaning has a view that one side or other does not like (in my experience you get far more of this on the left) you get attacked.
I'm not saying Trump was a good President, far from it, but given the expectations from both him and Joe Biden (with his 40-odd years in the senate), you would have expected Biden to be streets ahead of what Trump did, but I sure don't see it. I don't think Biden is helped by a VP who obviously does not like him, and is more than likely walking a tightrope between a lot of factions within the Democrat part, trying to please them all.
As someone who works in the medical field (hospital lab), Covid has been pretty much over for a while now, and it is the politicians that are really keeping it going. With every cycle it mutates to something less deadly, much like the 'Spanish' 'flu did back in the early part of the 20th century. So many people at my work have had it, no-one has been seriously ill, at worst it was like a mild 'flu, yet it caused havoc because people had to isolate and shifts had to be covered.
The local Primary school has had similar waves, with no-one seriously ill, yet they are still pushing for children to be vaccinated.
I am vaccinated, but I don't think I will be getting any more boosters. This thing isn't going away and from now on, natural immunity is the better way to go.
