That's like...hrm. That's like having 2 threads that are pro-pants and anti-pants* instead of one just discussing all of its aspects together.
I'm generally pro-pants...except for one day out of the year, of course.

Personally, I'm anti pants, anti shirts, anti clothing. But I'm a total hypocrite in practicing what I preach. :P

Obama should have slapped the Argentinians for their sabre rattling because if they try and start Falklands War 2, whoever is in power will just forget everything and send the troops to protect those isolated rocks of ours - mostly because the first one managed to win an immensely unpopular Maggie an election. Also, OIL! Hohoho. Irony.

Get most of your news from television and all you'll know is what the anchorette info babes (& guys) spin your way! (Maddow, Costello, Sawyer, Brzezinski, Mitchell, Scarborough, etc.  )

Get most of your news from television comics (Behar, O'Donnell, Stewart, Colbert, Sharpton, Letterman, Maher, Whoopi, etc.) and all you'll know is sarcasm and mordacity.

This is actually hilarious, since Obama insist that whoever write a proposal that their name should be attach to the bill, and it was the a republican that wrote the "death Panel" clauses in the HCR bill, and they were the one to carry the torch of how bad it was. You mean that kind of transparency. By the way, all the earmarks are also include with republican and democratic signature for the proposal, this way we know who was responsible for them, but you don't have to be superman to see them.

Where were you when Bush and Cheney had secret meeting with all the oil executive behind closed door to price fix our oil? Remember the $4 per gallon? how quickly you forget where the transparency of your predecessor and yet how many reaching across the board meeting did Bush have with the democrats??? While Obama still reach across the board in spite of open attack to obstruct anything Obama wants to pass including their own party proposal.

I learned a new word - mordacity! Apparently a word sufficiently abstruse that Firefox doesn't even have it in the dictionary... I notice you missed the biggest of all the USA comedians in your signature though. FOX "NEWS"! Those guys crack me up.

Really though, isn't it Obama trying to be bipartisan and not just taking things to reconciliation that has been the problem?

Actually, you scrape away the huffy hype (Olbermann) and the potty-mouth silliness (Stewart) and you can still find some good raw data, especially from Maddow.  If all I want is mordacity, I could just watch that twitching ganglion of pantophobic apprehension known as Glenn Beck.

I am dying, dying, to see Paul Giamatti play Beck.  Perhaps on SNL opposite Tina Fey's Sarah Palin.

But to answer your point, Ten: in a word, yes.  But in the parallel universe of untold millions of Americans, Obama is polishing his black leather jackboots, preparing for some overnight Fourth Reich.  Go figure.

Glenn Beck would be the comedy genius of the fucking century, if he wasn't serious... and if this video wasn't entirely too true but then, The Onion excels in the dark, close to the bone humour.

I'd like Obama if I could, except I don't trust a thing he does and I don't like the people with whom he associates.

In other news, the Republicans showed at the "healthcare summit" that they have ideas--and good ones at that--but with the Democrats' penchant for "me first, you never" politics (hello Ben Nelson), nothing that they proposed is going to get remotely close to the Democrats' legislation, reconciliation or otherwise.

This is the Democrats' debacle, and I HOPE THEY FAIL.
