The Expeditionary Sea Base (ESB) ships, USS Lewis B. Puller (ESB-3) and USS Hershel "Woody" Williams (ESB-4) at the Gulf of Aden. These ships are used for logistical support of amphibious assaults and carry fuel, helicopters, small watercraft and can change their displacement to facilitate loading and unloading of boats and other supplies if need be. They are named for Medal of Honor and/or Navy Cross recipients of the US Marine Corps. Hershel "Woody" Williams recently passed away and he was the last Medal of Honor recipient from World War 2.
