On July 27. 1950, a squadron of B-29 Superfortress bomb to hell a couple of railroad bridges in Pakchon , 40 miles north of Pyongyang, capital of North Korea, which had been built by the Japanese during their cruel occupation of Korea from 1905 to 1945. This stopped temporarily supplies to the North Korean army and was successful as you can see.  :)

BODEGA CATS!!!!

Check out the pics on their Tw11ter.

Yes, NYC does not allow cats in places where food is available, like bodegas. But the fine for getting caught with a cat on the premises is the same or less as the fine for a rodent infestation, so....

If you haven't come across this story yet, it's worth a read.

Everywhereist travel writer Geraldine DeRuiter was drawn to visiting the restaurant "Bros'", in Lecce Italy, having heard rave reviews and good things about one of the youngest chefs to receive a Michelin star, Isabella Potì, as she told TODAY Food in an email. The restaurant is also led by chef Floriano Pellegrino.

"I’ve tried to come up with hypotheses for what happened. Maybe the staff just ran out of food that night. Maybe they confused our table with that of their ex-lover’s. Maybe they were [inebriated]. But we got twelve kinds of foam, something that I can only describe as “an oyster loaf that tasted like Newark airport”, and a teaspoon of savory ice cream that was olive flavored."

"...Because by now it had been hours, and at no point had we been served anything that could be considered dinner. (There was one time when I thought it might happen – the staff placed dishes in front of us, and then swirled sauces on the dishes, and I clapped my hands, excitedly waiting for something to be plated atop those beautiful sauces. Instead, someone came by with an eyedropper and squirted drops of gelee onto our plates). “We’ve infused these droplets with meat molecules,” the server explained, and left."

"Chef" Floriano Pellegrino responded with a "Declaration", which spent more time talking about paintings of men on horses than anything to do with food. You can read it here:

Similar story but even funnier:

VICE: "I Made My Shed The #1 Restaurant In London"

The Shed at Dulwich was the number one rated restaurant in London, with foodies, cele bri ties and bloggers trying to get a table. The main obstacle for them, however, was that it didn't exist. Over the course of 8 months VICE's Oobah Butler used an assault of fake reviews to get his 'restaurant' to the hallowed top spot on TripAdvisor. With his phone perpetually ringing, PR agencies begging to represent it and TV crews pitching shows, Oobah decided he had no choice but to open its doors for one night only. Here is Oobah's journey into a false reality that captured the world's attention.

How to practice "Safe Sex" in the Late Victorian era.

Doesn't seem to have worked too well since birth rates were much higher in those days. For example, the typical woman of that era in Europe and North America had approximately 4.2 ch1ldren and today it is about 1.5 and some countries are actually losing population such as Romania, Russia and more and it is not due to war but rapidly aging populations and very low birth rates. East Asia is even worse with Japan, South Korea and China populations either declining or staying flat and all three will soon go into a demographic precipice. All of these countries Old Age government pensions are designed for the next generation being bigger than the prior one but, due to low birth rates, they will eventually collapse. Since the politicians and the citizens have been kicking this can down the road for decades, you can expect the rest of the 2020's to the 2050's to be, as the Chinese curse says, interesting times.

An F-80 Shooting Star from the Korea war (1950 - 1953) with two 75-gallon tanks of Napalm ( dark tanks ) in route to a bombing run mission over present day North Korea. The F-80 was originally the P-80 when it came out in 1945 two months after the war ended from the Lockheed plant in Burbank, California. It was the first successful mass produced jet fighter of the USA and when the US Air Force came out to be in 1947, it changed from P-80, which stood for Pursuit, for F, which stands for Fighter. Napalm is jellied gasoline which ignites on impact and creates a huge firewall and it will literally melt people if you are unfortunate to be within its blast radius. Invented in World War 2 and first used against the Japanese, it was last extensively used in the Vietnam War.
