I'm very glad that the re-re-make of "The Fly" did not make it past the "Hey, let's remake The Fly... again!" stage... mostly because you know that they'd never do anything as stylish as the wonderfully visceral special effects they used and would resort to lame CGI.

Planet of the Apes - Tim Burton style! - is a great example of how you need to really pick your battles as far as remakes go... Burton confessed even he doesn't understand the twist at the end... probably because it makes no sense... but then the film sucked so much, who really cares?

Why do I get this feeling that notty can recite the dialogue of "Deep Blue Sea" line for line?

While we're dreaming up remakes, here's a weird sequel that's been nagging the back of my imagination: "Starling and Somerset."  In this sequel, Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling from "The Silence of the Lambs" (I like Julianne Moore, but I'm ignoring "Hannibal") teams up with Morgan Freeman as William Somerset from "Se7en."  Haven't quite figured out a sufficiently harrowing killer for both of them to chase down -- but I do get these strange feeling that Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal Lecter and Kevin Spacey's "Jonathan Doe" can occupy the same universe.

bwaahhhhh!

How many Olympic events has Thomas Jane competed in? (and this is AFTER he became a huge movie star!)
How Many Masters Degrees does Thomas Jane have?
Is Thomas Jane fluent in six languages?
Has Thomas Jane ever beaten the piss out of Rocky Balboa or wielded the sword of Castle Grayskull?

Dolph Lundren eats guys like Thomas Jane for breakfast and craps them out several hours later, being all the better for having passed through his mighty Swedish digestive system.

How many facial expressions if Dolph Lundgren capable of?  That would be one!

How many decent movies has Dolph Lundgren been in? That would be one!

How pathetic was Dolph Lundgren's frozen food isle monologue in Universal Soldier?  Utterly pathetic!

How gay was Masters of Universe? Completely gay!

Q: How many facial expressions if Dolph Lundgren capable of?  That would be one!

A: Yeah, but it's a fantastic one. If I could make my face look like Dolph Lundgren, there would be no other experessons needed.

Q: How many decent movies has Dolph Lundgren been in? That would be one!

A: Dolph Lundgren was in lots of great movies. He was in Rocky IV, and Masters of the Universe, and Universal Soldier (with fellow action i-con JCVD) Red Scorpion, Pentathalon, and that movie with Brandon Lee, where Dolph plays the asian guy and Lee plays the white dude.

Q:How pathetic was Dolph Lundgren's frozen food isle monologue in Universal Soldier?  Utterly pathetic!

A: It was the best frozen food isle monologue in the HIStory of celluloid, unless you count the private contractors on the Death Star scene in Clerks.

Q: How gay was Masters of Universe? Completely gay!

A: What's wrong with gay? Gay means happy, and happy means gay. That's why gay people are so much fun. Besides, Masters of the Universe was slightyly less gay than 300, and everyone loved 300, starring the dreamy Gerard Butler.

In all seriousness, anyone who does not like Dolph Lundgren must have some sort of self esteem issues. Just know that, no one is expecting you to be as good as Dolph Lundgren. You fine just the way you are; unless there I guess if like we were picking teams for kickball, and I would be like, "I pick Dolph Lundgren!" And then the other captain would be like, "No fair, You got Dolph Lundgren last time!" Yeah, I guess I could see in that instance a slight resentment of Dolph Lundgren's Dolph-Lundgreness... You see what I just did? I used Doplh Lundgren's own name to describe him, because it's the only way I could possibly encapsulate all of the splendor than is Dolph Lundgren.

Prophet, I'm still waiting for the definitive  Planet of the Apes. You know, the one with Russ Meyer producing and directing...

If Dolph Lundgren is so great, why don't you marry him?

One movie I'd love to see remade would be 'Village of the Giants.' Watching it years later, Director/Writer Bert I Gordon didn't take the concept far enough. 30ft delinquent teens? You'd assume they'd have been really great delinquents, causing mayhem and havoc...but no.

I went to North L.A. 2 years ago and found a copy of the script in a library, and there were some things that were never done: some dancing gets out of control and they end up destroying some houses. As well as **90** power, smash the Sheriff's car, and even one guy even knocks around a normal-sized guy by uprooting a tree.

I actually took some of the screenshots and combined some of  Ricky Java's character bodies into some scenes. I've included an example of the more X-rated remake in my mind: 'Village of the Giants' Orgy.'

Zombie Russ Meyer is running amok and producing/directing films? It's pretty much impossible to see it going any worse than the last effort.

SNIP

Everyone should remember that on Galvatron's homeworld, Dolph Lundgren is a hero.  He is also able to juggle up to 3 decepticons and 2 autobots at the same time.  That's pretty impressive, even in a lower gravity field.

Dolph Lundgren has been considered and mentioned by name more times in this thread than in the entirety of the world during the years of 1989-2007. What the HELL?
