Wrong. The correct answer is that Tom Cruise is great and has yet to make a truly bad movie.
(but ID4 was better than War of the Worlds)

I think we're nearly ready for a remake of The Big Chill.

And I personally feel there should be liberal Brat Package among the cast.

Reaching back a bit.  Ben Hur, with ol Chuck Heston was a remake of the silent era Ben Hur.  Both were excellent in their own way, and the original Ben Hur had color sequences.

Those sequences were only dealing with Jesus but were there.  There was also a more extensive sea battle that was phenominal.  Hestons version had a better chariot race.

No more remakes for Ben Hur.

Yeah, if they tried it they'd probably put in a podrace in place of the chariot race. Why mess up a great film with an unnecessary remake?

That's exactly what I thought. "Ease On Down The Road" and "Home" are songs every bit as good as "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" but...?

I just the trailer for yet another version of The Punisher. This is the third time that Marvel is trying to make the character into a film franchise (Dolph Lundgren and that guy named Jane did versions) so let's hope the third time is the charm.

The book that was base on the movie Battlefield earth was pretty good, but the movie suck, and needs a better remake!

There are plenty of movies that could stand being remade. If I taught a film course, I'd suggest to my students that they take, for example, "The Beast of Yucca Flats" and do it better. Shouldn't be hard!

And am I the only person who noticed that The Wizard of Oz used the "It was all a dream!" ending?

The Wiz's score is mostly great, yeah. "You Can't Win" is GREAT--as good as any of Marvin Gaye's voice-of-the-inner-city recordings from that era, "Don't Nobody Bring Me No Bad News" is one of my personal theme songs, and I think "Home" is one of the best-crafted songs ever. It's just so impeccably written. And another great thing about that score is that those songs and several of the others ("Ease on Down," "Believe in Yourself," "Brand New Day," "Mean Ole Lion" among them) are all able to function as standalone songs out of context as well. VERY few (if any other) musicals are able to boast THAT many liftable songs. Great score. Shame the movie was so lackluster.

The fuck? They're doing it AGAIN?? That's like that reboot of the Hulk like three years after they tried it. If that's the case why the fuck aren't we attempting The Saint or The Avengers again? Or Daredevil and Elektra? Why don't we get a Nightcrawler movie? Lameasses.

Pretty sure TWoO invented it. It's everyone ELSE who's cheapened it.

It's the best movie ever filmed in Tampa!

As for The Wiz, it lost me with the snow tornado.

Dolph Lundgren was the best Punisher because after the movie, when he's not the Punisher anymore, he still gets to be Dolph Lundgren. Thomas Jane can't make that claim.

WRONG, you purple nurple!  Being a Thomas Jane is a far, far greater thing than being a Dolph 'Micropenis' Lundgren.
