.avi trouble... but i have divx!
« on: March 09, 2003, 11:49:34 PM »
in imaginos videos, i cant download any of the files with .avi extensions. they wont load in windows media player like any of the other ones (something about "cant locate codec/server"). now being a long-standing patron of inflate123 vault (RIP, for now...), i have kept current with the divx codec, and have the most recent (including the player bundled with it). anybody able to shed some light?

Have you tried the codecs at Imaginos site?

I hardly ever have problems with .avi files as long as I have divx installed.  I would make sure your media player is set to play .avi, and if you don't already, stick to one media player for the majority of files, and keep others for there specific types, ie .wmv, .rm, .mov, etc.

Many of the older videos were using codecs before divx was born. Most common was the Indeo one. There should be links to them in the files area of my video archive.
