The good news that Mark T has updated his Story Archive. The less than good news is that the update is very small, i.e., four stories. I am sure there is still a huge backlog waiting to be posted. My story "The Wedding Trip," for example, has been in Mark T's hands waiting for posting since early February 2001. Still, it is good to see some updating, however small; it suggests that Mark T has not given up altogether. Let's all hope that this modest update is the harbinger of more to come as opposed to a mere bone thrown to the wolves who have been circling Mark T's encampment in recent weeks. Way to go, Mark ... but could we please have more?

Furthermore, Marks still offers no explanation what-so-ever as to why he has been such a slacker or if this inept pattern of effort will continue on indefinitely.  No doubt it will.

He owes us no explanation, and we have no right to demand it.  He's providing a free service.  If you can do better, and have the time, talk to Imaginos about setting up your own story archive here.

He's used the "free service" excuse long enough.   Anytime anyone makes promises that they don't keep, an explanation is richly deserved.

I'm sick and tired of that loser, Mark T., to begin with and anyone who is dumb enough to defend the nincompoop needs to think again.

Well, four stories is not gonna make me re-subscribe to BEA. And the "he doesn't get paid" argument is so full of holes it looks like a chunk of Swiss cheese. The biggest and most obvious hole in that argument is that, paid or not, Mark T agreed to do a job when he signed up, and if he is not performing that job, or is not performing it adequately, he is breaking his agreement, and the BEA would be perfectly within their rights to replace him. Also, he has been a "no-show" for over six months (no updates between 7/4 and 10/29), and you can ask any employer what they would do to an employee who didn't show up for six days, much less six months!

Bottom line, he is not doing his job to the satisfaction of the customers, so someone in a position of authority should either light a fire under his backside, or kick said backside out the door.

Can we just stick someone on another story archive and put MarkT on the back burner?  What's the harm in letting someone else do some work to take up the slack (obviously there is more demand for stories).  So, as a payer, I would like someone to just step up and volunteer as a tenant and have someone with root access hook them up with a contributor's account.

As for the stories not being posted, just slap them on the forum.     I'm sure we wouldn't mind.

In the Female Muscle Growth growth groups, I've been suggesting the use of Morpheus to create distributed, rolling archives.  The use of keywords, for isntance, could be used to replaced the category codes.

I'm sorry. The reasonable, ethical thing to do is to just come out and say "Folks, I don't have the time to do this job any more. I'll step down effective [fill in date], and will help whoever volunteers to take up the task get started." I would be very interested in knowing why the current situation has gone on as long as it has, and why it's tolerated by the Owner.

What needs to happen is for someone, or better still some group, to set up another story archive, or publicize links to other existing ones. Is there any chance that R&D might publish, along with their story reviews, links to where the stories reviewed might be found?

Right. My story archive is going up soon. Alll i am waiting for is the logini information so i can transfer my site to the BEA. I will then start work on submitting new stories to the site. I will be active for at least the next year or two and have a couple of people who have access to my site to help me to update the site.

We don't currently provide a link to stories in archives because there is no guarantee that the archivist will not move them. At the moment, too, there aren't all that many archives where new stories could be found.  

The navigation system at (prohibited L) is pretty self-explanatory, so if a new story is there, you don't have to dig very far.
