It's been my nickname since I was in gradeschool. My real name was Sofia Lind*****, which I just hated. So my friends started calling me Lindy.  When I was 20 I got married, and lost the Lind**** ( husband shed me when I was 23) now, everybody just calls me Lindy,
Lindy except my Mom and a few others in the family. It does get confusing when I visit home, 'cause my Dad sometimes goes by Lindy too.

I guess I'm up next.  I have the incomparable Russ Meyer and Tura Satana to thank for my moniker.  (Surely everyone on THIS forum has seen Faster Pussycat Kill Kill?!)  I'm not sure where the name Varla comes from, but the root "var" in a lot of Slavic languages means "boil," which I always thought was appropriate given Miss Varla's temperament in the Meyer opus.

In my BE stories (so far), I've been using Varla as the name of the main female character and she's fiesty (or at least will be in the stories that are forthcoming).

Anyway, glad to be here.

I'm actually robclassact on a number of other boards, and I've been using that name for a while.  There's no story really behind it.  It's kind of a play on my real name and jimbobob is an outgrowth of that.  I got here and I can't actually remember why I changed it.  I think I registered a LONG time ago and forgot my password so I just picked a new one when I started post.

What the heck, I'll throw my hat into the ring.

Historically I've used 'Kneebone' quite a bit; that came about because back when I was trying to settle on an IRC nickname, I was also dealing with some knee issues.  The IRC nick stuck with me for quite a few years across various IRC networks.

To make sense out of everything, I'll also give a bit of history on collared_cherri.  Back when we met on IRC, she used to go by cherribaby.  Over time, we got into certain aspects of 'lifestyle' fun, so she became mine, hence the 'collared'.

The 'Dragonfly' portion came about because a) she's my sweet butterfly, so I became her sexy dragonfly, and b) we both have an affinity for (Chinese, Japanese) dragons (which I realize is a bit of a stretch).  The 'Master' part just shows my role in the relationship.  I've come to realize that my nick is a bit overkill, but just couldn't bring myself to make the change just for the sake of change.  I'm sure I could come up with something like Sticky_Gumdrop or Murky_Cappucino or similar, but... meh.

I actually do have an idea for a nick change.  Might create the alias, might not.  Guess you'll have to stay tuned.

Way back when I got a Yahoo! ID, I chose a certain username. It was called qwizzicalbe, and it now is my center of the BE universe. Everything BE-related I do goes through there.

Anyway, when I decided to join The Overflowing Forum (run by MrHHH), I decided it would be a tad too long to use as a poster's moniker. So, I shortened it to Q-BE. Now, I've brought it here.

But why did I choose qwizzicalbe in the first place? I consider myself an extremely inquisitive person. I can't ever be satisfied with an answer until I know "WHY?". Since it was a BE-related moniker, I just went simple. "QwizzicalBE" was born.

Oh, and I DID purposely misspell "quizzical" because...well, I wanted to. Just to be contrary to my usual spelling and grammatical accuracy.

Q-BE is a nice, short way to write that, and I like to pronounce it "CUBE". Others call it "Cue-Bee-Eee". Whatever you like best. Some (I won't mention any names--PlusOneZing!) call me Qubey.

I don't care, as long as you call me for dinner, or a BE experience.

I went with something complicated... my first name and my middle name.  I started using it when I first got online and there were all these warnings about identity theft and such, and I figured while it's not that common a pairing, it's unlikely that anyone would figure out my last name from those clues.  And when I started doing amateur stand-up, it just worked for me.

The name, not the stand-up.  That's still pretty hit or miss, with lots of misses.  What can I say, I hit like a girl.

Well my username consists of two things: An abbreviation and a first name. TG stands for TransGender as this is my gender indentity. It's pretty common to use the abbreviation somewhere at the name and that way other TG/TS/TV/CD can easily recognize it and find each other as insiders. Kehehe. And the name of course is mine (unfortunatly only online though).

A long long time ago ... back when the internet was young ... before there was webbrowsers ... yes ... the thingy you are using right now ... people had internet accounts ... text based internet accounts on Unix machines that were good for email ... MUDing (the precurser to MMORPGS).. and chatlines ...

Well, being a college student, I was allowed to have one of these wonderful accounts .. and I was allowed to choose my own handle ... and so I did ... selecting 'Munch' ... cause I like food ...

Tada ... there's the big secret ...

But wait you say ... you're nick isn't JUST Munch ... it's MUNCHWOOOOOOOOLF .... so where did the 'Wolf' part come from?

Well, that is an even more boring and tedious story ... but I know that if I don't tell it, I'll get more queries, I might as well spill the beans ...

Do you remember me mentioning way back in that mystical time before webbrowsers what accounts were used for?  That's right ... email .. MUDing .. and Chatlines .... and my weakness was the later ... I used to be part of a chatgroup called 'The Haven' ... hey .. check it out ... nolstalgia ... and my original handle there was 'Munchon' so when you looked in the chatwindow you would see I was 'Munch on sage' ... hahahaha ... geek humor

... althought later I settled to just 'Munch'

Anyway .. what the chatline was .. was about 14 people online at the same time chatting ... while 13 of those people were sitting in the same computerlab (the only people in the computer lab btw), and 1 person was logged in from another local college ... there's even a funny story about how I first met my ex-wife ... sitting next to her in a computer lab .. on the same chatline ... and we didn't realize it til 1/2 an hour in the convo ... ... ... sigh ... that was a hoot ...  

So ... back to thread ... if you bother to look at that list, you'll see another name: Wildcat/Mobius ... who originally wasn't Wildcat ... he was a good friend & roommate in college though (and not in that way) ... and when he first joined on he would test out various names ... well, one of these particular times we were in a Pier's Anthony mood .. and in his adept series there is a game in which people changed to different animal forms, in an attempt to defeat an opponent ... and if you can't switch you lose ...

Well, I started with Munchmouse ... he switched to a cat .. it could have been wildcat (ergo how he got his handle) ... I didn't want to up to a dog .. since munchdog sounded lame .. so I went with wolf ... we played the game a few more rounds .. I think I even made it to tiger ... but after the game .. something about the nick Munchwolf just rung with me ... I kept it ... (although I did experiment with Munchtigerwolf for a bit .. and just Tigerwolf ... but they didn't have the same umph) ...

And thus the story of my nick ...
