I am a HUGE fucking fan of Chrono Trigger. Only Mega man tops it, but I was a 15 year old with "moodiness" so I started as magusvex...then janusvex....then finally janus (vex came from VEga and mega man X)

J- I am also a terrapin who occasionally goes wld.

I'm of Scottish decent. Also, I discovered single-malts about 5 years ago. Funny how your tastes change as you get older.

For those who are interested...

Ardbeg 10 year (highly recommended!)
Arberlour Abudne 15 year (pronounced ah-Boon-eh)
Laphroig 10 year
Balvenie 15 year

So true. When I was 17 I got puking **92** on Cutty Sark -- I couldn't even smell scotch for years without wretching! In my mid thirtys someone talked me into (took a lot) trying a single malt -- WHOA! I am hooked.

My name is based on the name of another BEA member whom I possess from time to time (like now), and was elaborated by means of a complex and arcane algorithm which no mortal will ever unravel.  Any attempt to do so will result in severe shrinkage of your favorite organ (your favorite, mind you).

Well, then I am - no pun intended - screwed.

Then again - I've always been a little backwards... (*Sigh*)

As for the origin of my 'nom de plume'... It's both sort of simple and sort of complex, all depending on whether or not you read Stephan King's 'The Dark Tower' saga.

I have a Scottish background, and (one of) my name's Ronald - or, in the original Scots, Roland, which is the same as the name of King's main character in the series, who is 'the last Gunslinger'.

So, 'Gunslinger' - which, no disrespect or slight to certain individuals intended(you know who you are), is also the Avatar I use, who is *not* Clint Eastwood.

Just to clear the air.. or, is that 'muddy the waters'? At this point, I'm not sure... (*Grin*)

OH: And a sort of P.S. - I'm not currently a member here, though I'm trying to work out something with the Owner, vis a vis the new story archive. So, I have a good-friend-who-wishes-to-remain-anonymous browse (and post) to the member's gallery for me - using the pseudonym 'Me'....

Laelia is a non-player character I've written for use as a patron for the player characters in the magical-fantasy setting I use for adventure games. She just happens to be my age, have one son like I do, and a compatible philosophy with mine.  Her colleagues all had names drawn from Latin, so I just rolled phonemes around in my mouth until I got to a name that sounded Latin and was pretty to say. Later, I found out that was a Latin name in antiquity, and now applied to a genus of purple orchids.

Hmmm...guess it's my turn, still fairly new to this forum.

HeavyMetal1980...

Well, I could just say I'm a metalhead and be done with it (meaning I abuse my right to listen to Metallica or any other kind of heavy metal/hard rock) but there is a little bit more to it than that.

Yes, as I just mentioned I listen to a lot of heavy stuff. I was born in 1980 and as I gradually watched more and more MTV as I got older. I didn't just "bang my head" but actually took time to listen to the lyrics and the one's I identified with the most I made my favorites (Metallica).

Love then or leave them, their songs kick ass and many have great meaning and address good points.

I also live the life of "long hair, leather jacket, tattoos, get **92**, and chasing women...busty women" whenever possible.

Also, I have the misfortunate of encountering people that prefer rap, R&B, country, classical, or anything EXCEPT heavy metal...at least most of the time. Some people actually started calling me that since I listen to the music so much, and I am still called that to this day. I figured, what the hell, why not.

So Heavy Metal suits me since I listen to it, live it, and love it. The 1980 I guess just explains when it all began.

And since I sometimes jump to conclusions, act crazy, and lay my opinions out in a fiery blaze of glory (I'm getting better about though), it just seems to fit.

I remember replying to a similar thread a couple years ago, but I think that was before the forum crash I keep on hearing about...

My nick is from 2 arcade gaming nicks I used when I was a lot younger.  When I first played I was pretty good, and arcade games were still primitive enough that they usually one allowed 3 letters, so "Max".

Then as I got older they started allowing more letters in games, so I used a nick I already had as a CB handle, "Bigfoot".  I used that nick because I had size 10 feet when I was less than 10 years old, and we were living in British Columbia at the time, one of the places the Bigfoot legend is rampant.

I've used MaxBigfoot as long as I've been on the internet, it's the only nick I've ever used.  That's about it.

I apologize in advance if I post duplicate pictures in any of the picture threads I deal in.  My MO in getting pictures of one girl is to rip her Instagram.  That ends up with me having up to 2000 pics of her.  I've tried almost half a dozen duplicate finder programs, and none of them find all of the duplicates I inevitably end up with.

Well usually I go under the nic. Kitten, but I figured it was probably already taken, so I decided to use one of my other psudo-names...It may also have something to do with the fact that my hair is dyed black with red bangs.

Not to be racist, but I always thought your name was solve-gas. And that makes me think of how the Nazis thought they were solving the problem of Jews with gas chambers. ...but they used ovens.
