My favorites:

Saying "ironic" when "coincidental" is intended.  Ironic means the outcome is the opposite of what was expected.  Coincidence means there is a seemingly inexplicable correlation.  Special thanks to Alanis Morrissette for fucking this up for all of us.

Saying an acronym, followed by the last word in the acronym, like "HIV virus" or "ATM machine".

"Often times."  Doesn't "often" mean "many times"?

"For all intensive purposes."  What is an intensive purpose?  It is supposed to be "for all intents and purposes".

People who talk about the hardness of "a cement slab."  I think they mean concrete, since cement is the gray powdery stuff that comes in a 50 pound bag.

"Pre-planned," "pre-existing," "pre-"anything.  How do you pre-plan something?  Plan it before it is planned?  If you plan it before you execute it, then it is planned, that's all there is to it.  Same with a “pre-existing condition”…if it already existed, then it is an "existing condition."

rather unique

so unique

Either it is or isn`t unique. There are no degrees of uniqueness.

"Particularly unique", "especially unique" or any other inappropriate qualifier of that nature. Something is either unique (lat: "uni que" = one of), or it isn't; it doesn't need a further qualifier.

Maybe I'm just being pedantic, but that abuse of the language is like grit in the eye to me

You can plan to have offspring, but sometime accident happens and you pre-plan it earlier! When someone dies, the pre-existing condition is when they were alive! The pre-is is a car that gets about 50 miles per gallon. Pre-mature ejaculation is when the sperm haven't age long enough to be mature when it came out.

This is what happens when someone hears a phrase repeatedly but never sees it in print.  I got an email that said something like:  "I wouldn't give you a hand job little loan fuck you".  Of course, she meant to say "let alone", but had never seen it in print.  Unfortunately, she knew what she was trying to say and I didn't even get a hand job.

Drivers -correction: steering wheel holders- who don't turn on their blinker until the light turns green. This is especially annoying when you're waiting at the opposite side of the intersection with your blinker on during the entire red on a two-lane street with no left turn lane. So what I do when they pull this bullshit? I turn mine off, floor it, and go straight.

Burning my mouth after leaving food in the oven too long or microwaving it too long.

Spilling the condensation from a cold glass of ice water on my clothes.

People that interrupt the entertaining conversations I occaisionally have in the chatroom to ask, "DOES ANYBODY HAVE PICS OF BOOBS?"

As my old grandmother might have said, "if tha wants a job done proper, do it tha'sen."

But people don't do much reading these days, so you see words like "congradulations". And to preserve the delicate balance, "strattled".

Americans, as a rule, don't do irony the way Brits do, so they often use the word "sarcasm" instead. I always reckon that if you say something ironic, you say it with an innocent expression on your face; if you say something sarcastic, you say it with an unpleasant sneer.

Of course, since we Brits do do irony, we don't need to say "NOT!" afterwards. We do say it occasionally, but only ironically.

• People that are afraid to pass a police car going five miles under the speed limit

I used to work with a guy who went out of his way to deliberately say "supposably" around 2 other co-workers.  After 2-3 months of this, both of these other co-workers had ceased saying "supposedly" in favour of "supposably".  We had to fight hard to keep a straight face whenever they would do that.

People who spit their gum on the ground. Yesterday, I stepped on a huge wad of gum and it managed to pull my shoe off my foot. Yes, it was that big. Granted, the shoes I was wearing were backless; but that's still a lot of gum to trap someone's footwear to the ground.

And people with no work ethic. It bothers me to no end when I see an certain  employee in my department with no sense of urgency (it's a newspaper and we work on deadline) and wouldn't be proactive if his life depended on it. Unfortunately, it's not up to me to fire him.
