The older I get, the fewer things annoy me.

Especially if they have tits.
Someday, chi1dren, this entire fuck-up will be yours.

Today's annoyance:

Poking around the various app stores for free games for my Android tablet, and I come across a few that look pretty good. However, it seems that I need something called "AppBrain" to be able to download and install them.

So I go looking for AppBrain, and it seems to be tied in somehow to the "Google Play" app store... and here I go into the Spiral of Despair.

I keep getting sent back and forth between the AppBrain site and Google Play, and nowhere do I find a link or a button to download anything! The "install" buttons keep saying I need to have something else installed first. Which I would get, if there was a place to get it!

Finally had to go on my desktop and search out a copy of the apk file. I'll let you know how it works once installed.

Well, AppBrain works... but I still can't use it to download anything.

Seems that it requires the Google Play Store app, and my device happens to NOT be among the hundreds supported by Google Play.

And I can't even download the apps onto my desktop computer and transfer them through a memory card:

"While the Google Play website is available on any browser to push content to your device, Android apps on Google Play may not be downloaded to desktop or laptop computers at this time."

The ground is deep with fallen leaves and nuts of White and Red Oak, and of Beech, that line and fill the footprints and the ruts which all along the wooded pathway reach. First claim, of course, to chipmunk and to squirrel for bleak mid-Winter sustenance belongs, as all around old leaves descend and twirl about, through feathered autumn songs.

I don't know why you need AppBrain to install anything, though. It's usually used to help keep track of stuff you install, making it easy to quickly reinstall them if you bork your Android device, etc.

You know what annoys me? MTV and BET. Those are two of the absolute worst cable stations ever.

When a **29** or athletes refer to themselves as "a brand" or "my brand".It makes them seem like they are a robot and not human.Alot of them probably are.

This is an old post and I read the first two pages but forgive me if this is in there somewhere, but the horrific misuse of "literally".  "I literally shit my pants I was laughing so hard."  Really, you laughed so hard you shit your pants.  Did you clean them out or toss them in the trash?  You should get checked out if laughing actually makes you loose control of your bowels.

I hate that too.

'I literally died'

Oh yeah, talking to a ghost am I?

OK, here goes.

Crappy TV adverts.

Darts players who look towards the camera like they've done something amazing. Mate, you've thrown pointy things at a BOARD, you haven't run the London Marathon!

People who don't indicate at roundabouts.

Reality TV contenders who try to use their appearance on a show as a short-cut to fame.

People who appear on X-Factor/Pop Idol with a sob story trying to get sympathy, and others who say it is their 'last chance' to do 'what they love' despite the fact that most recording artists have worked bloody hard to get where they are, another short-cut thing there.

People who speed up their car on their way to a junction, then brake sharply when they get there.

People who drop litter on the ground despite the fact there is a bin close to hand.

People who can't control their dogs, I can't think of the number of times when out running that I have nearly tripped over some bloody dog!

Crappy TV adverts.

Related: Those promo bugs for other shows that pop up and take over the bottom 1/4-1/3 of the TV screen while I'm trying to watch something, ESPECIALLY when the shows being promo'd ALSO get ads during the breaks.  If you're showing ads for them already, then stop interrupting what I'm watching to advertise them more!  For that matter, I'm not a fan of the faded-transparent text ad/promo/reminders that get piled up on top of the station logo too, or the use of such text to tell me what I'm currently watching.  I can tell what I'm watching, thankyouverymuch, and again I'm putting up with ads and promos for your channel's material during breaks, let me watch the current show in peace.

These continuing practices has driven me to watch most of my TV via Hulu, which leaves out all such junk; it's like TV execs don't want you to actually watch their broadcasts!
be seeing you...

Indeed I am. I don't think you have roundabouts in the US do you? Or at least nowhere near as many as there are in the UK.

Mod edit: I'm pretty sure I recall seeing some in New Jersey when I was a k1d. Not sure if they're still there. -Pal

No, not many. We have five here in Vegas for the whole town. I live near them all in my planned community and they are a experiment. Unfortunately most of the people here in this part of town are old geezers that learned to drive 40 - 60 years ago and don't know / understand how to use them. Most go back to a default mode and use them as a four way stop crossing defeating the purpose of the design. They should have put them in North Las Vegas where so many young people live and start teaching them how to use them. Very often old dogs simply don't want to change.
