I believe you are correct. Most biographical information refers to "implants", but from the time and place, and the apparent health problems, it seems much more likely that the first enhancements were injections.

In 1971 and 72 (most biographies) or 1972 and 73 (she says) she was chosen as Miss Nude Universe. After that, and before 1975, when she acted as the narrator/Greek chorus for Meyer's movie Up, she and Russ got together and stayed more or less together for more or less 15 years. Both had been married and divorced before, and they never married each other.

Kitten allegedly got that nickname from working at The Classic Cat because she was shy. That may well have been true when she was very young, but it certainly wasn't true later in life. She was quite outspoken, for example, regarding Russ's timidity regarding sex. They stayed together longer than either of them stayed in another relationship, and they remained friends much longer.
