No, you are wrong.  As someone else said in another thread, when you make a claim, the burden of proof is on you and no one else.  If you cannot substantiate the claim with evidence, do not make it in the first place.

I've never known of someone who calls him or her self a "cosmetic" surgeon to be respected by other doctors, probably because almost none of them had completed a residency in plastic surgery or were certified in plastic surgery by a legitimate board.  

True enough.  That said, as a CV surgeon and not a plastic one, I prefer the term cosmetic surgeon.  Makes more sense.
FWIW, the ones I dealt with south of the border when we were doing novel burn-grafting techniques called themselves cosmetic and not plastic surgeons.
