I love driving in the snow.  I've been out today slippin and slidin having real fun.  Doing handbrake turns.

The snow was like mashed potato and gravy, not frozen, but slippy in a different way.  I can see why the Eskimos have lots of words for the snow.

It was once said that Portland gets snow 1-100 ratio in years, but we have gotten snowed for the last 5 years in a row. This one not so bad as per wind, but its about 3 inch thick, and slowly melting but will be ice tonite Im sure. Came down really fast and took people 6 hours to get home from 10 miles away at work. All because of one major hill on the main route to the next city.

Just for the record, there was a storm tonight in the Gulf of Alaska last night that would be a Category 4 hurricane, if it were tropical. cliffmass.blogspot.com

It means the surf on the north side of the Hawaiian Islands will be great tomorrow.

If the windshield wiper fluid freezes try adding some rubbing alcohol to it.  Try 1oz/gal to start and add more if needed.  It might take a day to melt it.

Well here in Minnesota we have had tons of snow this year, but right now we are fighting the cold.  My squad car thermometer said -18 degree F tonight and it's supposed to be colder Friday night!  We go from a foot of snow one day to this the next!  Tell me again why the pioneers even stopped in this area?  Shoulda passed right on by!

The ones from Northern Norway I can understand. Seattle got the ones from Coastal Norway.

It's the Germans I can't understand, unless they were convinced that it only got worse the further you went...

I'm in Ohio, and it's only been above freezing (32°) once since Dec. 1st. That's the coldest stretch I remember, and I've been around for awhile. The Accuweather forecast for Feb. and March isn't good either.

We should start a thread along the lines of "the weather here is great!" just to stick our tongues out at those whining about the -20 degree temperatures. ;)
