The rich assholes who think they run Seattle are trying to take over an area near the base of the Space Needle which has been scheduled to become a park/green space. Instead, they want to open a massively expensive gallery ($13 admission) to sell the glassware of Dale Chilhuly. Apart from questions of using public space for private gain, or whether Chihuly is really an artist, he has no organic connection with Seattle. He has spent most of his life, and has a museum, in Tacoma, WA.
But isn't there a true artist who is an organic part of Seattle? A music pioneer who does not have a monument?
