Sadly, some of the people signing these are taking them seriously.

I know, right? Don't these jokers read history? Didn't they see how well that whole "secession" thing worked out the last time? Gimme a goddamn break...

Aren't those states planning to secede generally the ones that get more money from the federal government than they contribute?

You are correct, sir, with the exception of New York state. I suspect that petition won't get far. It's just another right-wing wet dream.

There certainly was. The initiative passed by a large margin--considerably larger than gay marriage--and all across the state. Like most states, we have urban-liberal and rural-conservative areas, but this initiative passed in most counties regardless of other politics. Prosecutors in the two most populous counties have already dropped all small-quantity possession cases.

Strangely enough, civilization has not collapsed; but "Tea Party" has a whole new meaning.

The Democrats seem to have grown a bit of a spine since the election; they're standing strong against the Republicans' lame attempt to overdramatize the so-called "fiscal cliff". More power to them.

Actually, what I find to be utterly hilarious poetic justice is that when all the votes are in, Romney may wind up with having won only 47% of the popular vote....

I can't post a direct link to a Obama song parody video due to underag3dness in it.  So you get this:  FBPuUsaCVrI.  You'll figure it out.  :D
