Without even watching that video....

First, he's not so much a spy as a hit man for the government. He does no intelligence gathering or anything we'd normally associate with espionage.

With that out of the way, he makes ZERO effort to be inconspicuous. He even uses his real (well, the one he has for paperwork purposes) name!

At least in the Connery era they made some pretense of "There's something unusual going on here. Go find out what it's all about. If you get the opportunity to stop it by killing someone, well, we'll look the other way."

Connery's Bond hewed pretty closely to the books, but the more time went on, the less that happened. Now pretty much the only thing the movies have in common with the books is if you're lucky the title and generally just "I want a vodka martini, shaken not stirred"

Exciting news for fans of cinema:

Box office projections are for No Time to Die, the last Daniel Craig Bond movie, to get US $100 million in its opening weekend. That would make it the biggest opening weekend of any movie in the COVID era, the biggest opening weekend of any movie in October (currently held by Venom: There Will Be Carnage which came out a few weeks ago), and the biggest weekend opening of any Bond movie in history (currently held by Skyfall).

Time will tell, but that would make a very nice present, given that yesterday was "James Bond Day": the anniversary of the release of the first Bond movie, Dr. No, on 5 October 1962.

Today I saw " No Time To Die " and it was, in my opinion, the best one of the Daniel Craig era. At two hours and forty three minutes long, it was entertaining throughout and never tedious. Spoiler alert : James Bond dies in this movie.
