That was one of the main stars of the Disney/Pixar movie "Cars" and the character was voiced by Paul Newman.

Back in 1975, the 1976 Cadillac Seville debuted, and it was the "little" Cadillac, especially compared to the Deville which it was named after in order to keep the continuity of the naming of the vehicles, and it had a smaller engine made by Oldsmobile, a 350 Cubic Inch or 5.7 liter V-8, and it was Cadillac's answer to the European cars like BMW, Mercedes Benz and others that were getting more popular due to rising gas prices and better maneuverability than the huge land yachts which they had made for generations. This particular model was owned by Elvis Presley. Do you realize if he was still alive, he'd be 88 years old?

A 1970 Cadillac Eldorado with a 500 cubic Inch, 8.2 liter, V-8 engine with 400 horsepower. That was the largest engine sold in those days and the car got about 8-10 miles per gallon going downhill. It was about 5200 pounds in weight but due to the very high engine torque, it could do 0 to 60 mph in about 10 seconds which was amazing for that time. Along with its cousins, the Buick Riviera and Oldsmobile Toronado, it was front wheel drive. This model was also the last one with no pollution equipment.

This is a great-looking car, but, too me, the front end doesn’t say Cadillac much.

A 1972 Lincoln Mark IV, which was the "small" Lincoln of the era and was the direct competitor to the Cadillac ElDorado. It had a 460 Cubic Inch V-8 engine with 375 horsepower. Yup, it was the fast Lincoln. And it has that styling cue of the "spare tire" trunk which it had for generations. 

Yes, as you can see from my post which directly preceded yours.  Not only had that spare tire thingy been around for decades, it would continue thru the last of the Marks, by which time it was quite the anachronism.

Something didn’t look right so I looked that one up.  It’s built by Packard Bayliff Motor Corp.  The donor chassis is a 1949 Packard, but the coachwork is all new designed from styling cues from a 1934 Packard.  Ford engine, auto tranny, power brakes, steering, windows, and conv top.  Disk brakes, modern wheels and tires, etc.  Basically a modern car on a ‘49 chassis with ‘34 style.

I find it to be a spectacular car, a great hybrid with the style of the 30's and with present technology.

Speaking of motorhomes, from 1972 to 1978, General Motors built the only motorhome produced by a major auto/truck manufacturer. All others like Winnebago for example, would buy the frame from a truck manufacturer and then they built the coach on top of it. The GMC motorhome was built in Pontiac, Michigan and decades later, quite a few are still on the road because of their reliability.

Those were nice.  My dad had bought a Lifetime motor home back around ‘69 or ‘70, which, as far as I can tell was a duplicate of the Winnebago of the day with its angular styling.  Few people drove ‘em back then.  It was great, kinda like taking your hotel room with you but you could stay inexpensively at a camp site.  We went all over the country in it. I see that GM has two a/c units on it, I wish ours had even one.  Would’ve been handy down in Florida in the summer!  It got like 8 mpg.
