1930 Cadillac V-16 452A Sedan Cabriolet Fleetwood. I always thought this was/is a beautiful car that had a huge V-16 Engine in order to be able to move it because it was huge. Cars in those days had large engines but they had little horsepower and Cadillac essentially mated two V-8 engines and it had the power to move quickly, for its time. This was Al Capone's car and he had it modified with armor, bullet proof glass and other amenities so he could shoot his way out of trouble and be protected. That's why he bought the V-16 Cadillac.

From 1968 to 1982, the bestselling and longest generation of this car, the Chevrolet Corvette, was a car I always desired but was never able to afford. This one is a 1969 Stingray convertible with a 427 cubic inch V-8 engine, the big block variant. Remains a truly iconic car and it is still an advanced looking car. 

This was the version I liked when they still had the chrome blade bumpers. But, 5 mph bumpers forced the later built-in look.  It was done well, but I still prefer the chrome ones.

As promised, here’s the tail end.  I love the huge tail fins and the way the rear lamps actually hang down on little stalks suspended in the air.  Such fun!

Yeah, Exner was told to get rid of the fins for 1962.  Most of the other manufacturers had lost their fins the year before.  Here’s the backend of the ‘62 Imperial.  Fins are mostly gone, replaced by little pods and just a glimmer of little fins. You can just about see in this view that the headlights are the same free-standing units.

I’m sure he would’ve kept them if he’d been allowed. I think he called them clipped chickens or something like that.  He really wanted to keep the fins.

It also went out of business for the same reason many car companies did, The Great Depression.

1938 Cord “coffin nose” Cabriolet.  One of my personal favorites, ever.   And front wheel drive, to boot!

1967 Cadillac Fleetword & Eldorado

This generation was the last good-looking Cadillacs for decades, IMO.  Not until the 2003 CTS came out was there a good looking Caddy again

I came across this car on IG.  I only vaguely recollect this car.  I’m more familiar with the tiny hatchbacks Honda produced before the early Civcs in the early 70s.
