Way back in 1972, when I worked at an Esso/Exxon service station as my first job, there was a man who drove a 1970 Porshe 911S and he would fill up his car with 105 octane Esso/Exxon. I remember his face of the time, he was 40 years old then, but I've forgotten his name. Unlike Jaguars, Porshe were reliable car and not garage queens like Jaguars. A classic that has been built since 1964 and modernized multiple times.

One of those cars that look like they're speeding along just standing still.  Very stylishly, too.

1933 Pierce Arrow Silver Arrow. This was the year they merged with Studebaker from South Bend, Indiana, home of Notre Dame university, and the company made what was a radically streamlined model for the time. It had a V-12 engine. Unfortunately, Pierce Arrow died in 1938 because that company from Buffalo, New York, Studebaker had to decide which company would die at the time. The Great Depression killed a lot of classic car companies.

1968-1970 American Quality Coach (AQC) Jetway 707
The 707 moniker was a nod to the Boeing 707. The Jetway 707 rode on six wheels, and was 28 ft long with a 185-inch wheelbase. In keeping with the Jet Age theme, the passengers each sat on individual bucket seats. Between 52 and 150 were believed to have been built, and a black one can be seen in a traffic scene in the 1976 movie All the President’s Men.
The unusual Toronado powertrain developed by Oldsmobile, called the Unitized Power Package (UPP), packaged a Rocket V8 and transmission into an engine bay no larger than one for a conventional rear-wheel drive car. During its seven-year development, UPP components were driven over 1.5 million test miles to verify their strength and reliability. They proved so well-built the UPP was employed basically unchanged in the 1970s GMC motorhome.  With that said, it was certainly up to the task of powering the Jetway 707.

Never heard of these.  Great idea to use front wheel drive as you wouldn’t have to stretch the drive shaft all the way back to a pair of those four wheels back there.

The company, which has its factory in Dülmen, was founded by brothers, engineer Martin Wiesmann and businessman Friedhelm Wiesmann, in 1988.The business was temporarily closed in May 2014, and following a buyout by London based investor Roheen Berry who took over as CEO, it is set to return with a new model, powered by a BMW M division-sourced V8 engine.

This kinda reminds me of the storied Duesenberg's brothers of the 1930's which started a luxury car company of hand built individualistic cars which remain to this day legendary.

They put a little over 700 miles on this, to see how well it went.  Just decided to put it into production, then the depression happened.
