That vehicle was used as a staff car during World War 2 by American Officers. Yes, there were others also used. Prior to the war, models like that, because of their huge trunks, were used by traveling salesmen.

Business coupes began to appear in the 30s and usually had no rear seat (or a removable one), but a partial shelf installed, instead, so that the salesman had an accessible place to store his wares. They were usually stripped down models.

First car to go cross country, the 1904 curved dash Oldsmobile by Ransom E. Olds, which founded Oldsmobile in 1897 or 6 years before Henry ford founded Ford Motor company and in 1915, he was one of the original founders of General Motors.

How could he have been one of the original founders of GM when he’d left Olds in 1904, four years before GM bought Olds Motor Works.  He had started up REO by then, I believe (REO Speed Wagon, anyone? )

Supposedly, a 1942 Alpha Romeo 6C 2500 SS Coupe Bertone.  Not sure how the Italians made such a car in the middle of WWII.

Nash Motors was a company founded in Kenosha, Wisconsin April 11, 1916 and was in business independently until 1937 when it merged with Kelvinator to become Nash-Kelvinator from 1937 to 1954. It then merged with Hudson Motors to become American Motors Company, aka AMC. It was Nash Motors in 1938 which first came out with the ventilation system which cars worldwide still use, in 1941 it came out with unibody construction, in 1950 with seat belts and in 1957 with the first muscle car. This company had a big effect even though it died as a brand in 1957. This is 1951 model.

Back in 1995, my mother bought a 1995 Chevrolet Celebr1ty and it was the last car she ever bought. She left California in 1997 and she bought a house here in Vegas. In New Years Day of 2000, she suffered a stroke which left her right side paral1zed and unable to talk, so I took care of her. She was a small woman, and it was too difficult for me to put her in it to transport her, so I took her car, replaced the springs in the rear suspension with much greater strength, and had an electric scooter carrying frame welded to the rear of the frame and I kept her car until she passed away in 2010. Saw this photo and it was the same color of that car.

Never heard of Röhr before, goob, but they obviously made some really nice looking cars.  I'm surprised a car of that vintage doesn't have running boards, they're a little ahead of their time there.
