In 1970, both the Chevy Camaro and the Pontiac Firebird were changed to the second generation of their models, and I always thought the 1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 with 400 horsepower was a fantastic car. I've always liked its styling.

What year was Jim Rockford's gold Firebird?

He drove several different years models, the first one in 1974 was the Firebird Esprit and the models most associated with the TV show were the 1977-1978 Esprit models. The Rockford Files is one of my favorite TV shows ever and its theme music pops into my head every so often. James Gardner was a great actor and died on July of 2014.

Originally supposed to be a 1983 model, it was delayed, and it became the 1984 Corvette, which was the first fourth generation Corvette. Beautiful car.

Is this a real picture?  It certainly echoes the horse drawn taxis of the 1800s.  But, how is that steering wheel connected to the wheels to make it steer?

The reason I'm posting this 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu is because 60 years ago, my father bought this model, which was creme colored, back in May of 1964. It had a inline 6 cylinder 250 cubic inch engine, and with a manual transmission of Three on the tree. It was bought in Mexico City and when we moved to the USA in 1971, he traded it for a 1971 Monte Carlo which he gave to my mother. How time flies.

Four of the Oldsmobile 67-X Toronados were custom built by George Barris for Esso Oil and displayed at the Expo67 Worlds Fair in Montreal that year. The cars were to be given as prizes in a scratch off "Esso Roadshow" contest at Canadian stations. Two survive, but one belonged to a man who soon died, and the family doesn't know what happened to it. Who knows, it may show up one day in an old barn up north one day.
Barris took an Olds Toronado and stretched the middle section 15 inches, raised the wheel arches, and worked the body in his distinctive style. The limo interior took on a sort of drug den appearance with wrap around rear seating and a swivel seat up front to face the back. There was a convenient table between the front and rear seat for uhh..playing cards. Barris actually built a fifth example which he kept for himself naming it X-70 Golden Arrow.
