A car company my father had great memories of, The Packard car company, 1899-1958. The big three, GM, Ford and Chrysler killed it off.

Car tires of that era had tires with white sidewalls.

First time I saw this car on Car and Driver magazine when I was a teenager, I fell in love with it.

I remember my father bought a 1968 Chevrolet Impala station wagon with fake wood decals on the side body because back in 1940, when he was a teenager, an uncle of his bought a 1940 Packard with a real wooden body. Dad told me that back in the 1930's and 1940's, most station wagons of the time had real wooden bodies.
