It was during late 1946 that the first post-World War 2 cars first came out and they were 1947 models. In late 1945 and 1946 almost all of them were actually 1941 models. It took a little while to end war production to peace production.

I remember how many American cars in the 70's had very long hoods. My mom drove a 1971 Monte Carlo, and I remember I once had to replace the radiator hose that was leaking, and it was about 2 feet or so long from the Radiator to the engine which was a 350 cubic inch, 5.7-liter small block Chevy V-8 engine. By the 80's, cars were downsized due to the energy crisis and the long hoods disappeared.

In 1964, when the Ford Mustang appeared, a new type of cars came about which were called the Pony cars and afterward the Camaro, the Firebird and Plymouth came out with the Barracuda. The 1969 was the second generation.

Back in 1971, this was the smallest Cadillac sold that year, but it had the biggest engine, a 500 cubic inch, 8.2 liter V-8 and it was front wheel drive and it was the sporty Cadillac.

My father was fond of this car brand since back in the 1930's, one of his uncle's drove one. Don't know if it was this specific one, but I think it's great.

I remember while working at a ESSO/EXXON service station back in the day, a customer always filled his car with 105 Octane EXXON Extra and he would skyrocket out of the place after we filled it. There was no self-service at the place until later.

Back in 1974, I was looking to buy a new car, but they were all too expensive from my perspective, so I decided to buy a used 1968 Chevrolet Impala. One that I wanted a lot, even though I'm a Chevy man, was the AMC Jeep CJ-5, but it was too expensive for me.

A vehicle I always liked and due to life circumstances, I was never able to buy one.
