From a show that was popular in the 70's and 80's, Dukes of Hazzard, this 1969 Dodge Charger was one of the main stars. They ended up wrecking over 300 of them because the stunts were real, there was no CGI at the time.

That car was so far ahead for its time. 

It was custom built for setting speed records, so ahead of it's time is to be expected. 
It set a one-hour record of 153.97 mph (247.79 km/h) and a twenty-four-hour record of 135.57 mph (218.18 km/h) at a circuit on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Joint Light Tactical Vehicle aka JLVT. Today is Memorial Day, so this vehicle has had some casualties during America's military operations.

From the year I was born, I remember back in the 1970's many guys lusted after these cars. They were considered excellent classics then.

I didn't much care for most AMC (American Motors Cars) from the 1960's and 1970's but I did like the Pony Car, the Javelin.

When I was a young boy, my Dad used to talk about Packard cars and how he missed them, and they were such good cars.

I remember seeing this in a Motor Trend magazine when I was a kid and it has fascinated me since.

Back in 1974, I bought my first car which was a used 1968 Chevrolet Impala. The color was light green with a black vinyl top, but this one is the same model I bought then.

 This is a Vauxhall Chevette 2300HS . (UK car). From 1978.....I had one of these in '78 , when I was 21 . These were a 'Homologation' special , intended as a qualifying car for the rally car world . There was a limited run of around 200 cars only.
  They had a twin cam version of the 2.3 ltr engine from the Victor/VX range ( a car that was 2 sizes up from the Chevette.) and were one of the fastest 'hot hatch' cars of the day ! Its main competitor was the Ford Escort RS2000 , but the Chevette was faster and was far superior handing wise compared to the Escort !
  Wish I still had one today !  I paid £5500 for mine back in '78 ( which was a lot of money! ) ..... On the rare occasion that a properly restored one pops up these days , you'd be looking at £30000+ !
