Hmmm.. her domain name have lapsed. I'm guessing her days on TV is no more. Good for her I suppose. I'm certain she's got the "slim down so you can cast for more roles" advice ad nauseum by now. It's refreshing to find women who will defend their curvy figures, instead of following the bs stick thin is beautiful mantra.

I'd be interested to know if an actress like Christina Hendricks got the Mad Men role in part because of her body (i.e., they were looking for a more busty/full-figured gal) or was she truly the best to audition for it (assuming it was an open casting call).  I read an article that said she was in acting business for about 11 years until the Mad Men opportunity developed.  It's hard to say for sure whether her breakthrough took so long because of her body put limitations on what roles she could get or whether people just felt she wasn't a good enough actress.

Emily has a specific training in the performing arts so I'd hope she wouldn't just give up on all that this early in her life.

She was excellent in Firefly back in 2002, so I doubt anyone was waiting for her acting chops to develop.
I think she was just the right actress with the right body when the Joan part came along.
