I have all 3 movies, extended versions, on blu-ray.  About once every couple of years, we take a weekend and do a marathon.  It's cool to be able to pause them for meals, snacks, or washroom breaks.

Good that you have the trilogy BUT, when in an IMAX movie screen, the visuals are better. Even if you have a 75inch screen at home, IMAX is still better.  :)

Yesterday I saw The Return of the King of the Lord of the Ring trilogy and the director's cut was 4 hours, 25 minutes long. There were scenes I didn't quite remember from seeing it before but, in spite of its length, it didn't seem to last so long. Great trilogy.  :)

Yeah, that's the sign.  I've been watching them for 20 years now, and as long as they are, they always seem to go by quick.  What's even neater is the extended versions come with documentaries that are even longer, by a ways, than the movies, and I find them just as interesting as they were the first time I watched them!

I apologize in advance if I post duplicate pictures in any of the picture threads I deal in.  My MO in getting pictures of one girl is to rip her Instagram.  That ends up with me having up to 2000 pics of her.  I've tried almost half a dozen duplicate finder programs, and none of them find all of the duplicates I inevitably end up with.

I haven't seen it yet, but many of the guests exiting the theater afterwards seem to like the new version of Mean Girls. The original came out 20 years ago, so I'll check it out soon enough.  :)

Saw it yesterday and it was a musical with some good stuff and Tina Fey played an interesting Math teacher.

I'd like to see a remake of the Hammer Horror picture "The Vampire Lovers". The original starred the late Ingrid Pitt and was fairly tame. The new one should be full on hardcore, done either straight or as a parody.

Tina Fey is triple-dipping: she wrote the original movie screenplay (and starred in the movie), based upon Queen Bees and Wannabes, the 2002 self-help book by Rosalind Wiseman. Then she created the made-for-TV sequel show from it. Then she wrote the book for the Broadway musical version of it - the music was written by her husband Jeff Richmond. And now they've made a movie version adapted from the Broadway musical. Good for her!

Too true....

The ground is deep with fallen leaves and nuts of White and Red Oak, and of Beech, that line and fill the footprints and the ruts which all along the wooded pathway reach. First claim, of course, to chipmunk and to squirrel for bleak mid-Winter sustenance belongs, as all around old leaves descend and twirl about, through feathered autumn songs.

Unlike, say, “Dune Part Two”.  While I actually liked the movie a lot, it was waaaaaaaay too long.  Charade kept asking how much longer it had to go.  It definitely could’ve used some trimming.

Is it worth watching in IMAX?
