Already nine great entries, and more are very welcome.  But the admission time is drawing to a close: the portcullis will drop in 24 hours, so if you have an entry:

All bikini don't have the same hard work  :P  ;D

That is a nice morph of a photo of mine I took at the AVN this past January. If any of the artists here wish to use my photos please do so and go crazy if you want but make sure they are HUGE.  ;D

You are a lucky man  :)  Thanks to share

That's fine, ThreeT, thanks for your entry.  No problem with the deadline, because I set it to welcome any entries through the 19th of the month anywhere in the world, i.e. until midnight in Hawaii, which would be noon CET on the 20th. And this time I'm having trouble setting up the poll, so there may be a grace period well into the 20th  :-[  (but I do have to try to allow a good week for voting).

PS: Can you identify the model, or at least provide a title for your fine morph?

OK, that's it, time to vote in the poll above.  I wasn't able to set up proper linking to the large-scale images: some links work, some don't.  But if you want to see the larger versions, no problem, just scroll down this thread to the morph you're interested in and click the pic for the original size (I hope that works, at least  :o  )

Warning: if you click on the images in the poll, you will select that morph for the vote: no problem, you can always change to another before you click on "Submit Vote" - but be sure you end up selecting the one you want first. If you want to think some more, go back before you exit. :o

Already voted. Another tough choice to make since there were three of them I wanted to vote for so ... using the most scientific and technically advanced method devised by man, I made my choice using rock, paper and scissors. I've never chosen the eventual winner but maybe this time....  ;D

We have got a winner!  :D

My vote was for "bursting.bikini" - because Captain Nemo did the best (and  hardest) work on the topic "Hard work for a bikini".

If I had voted for my own entry, we would have three winners (with 8 votes), right?  ;D

That's an interesting view.

Foremost, congratulations to the Cap for his winning entry.

Back to the voting now: I feel there's way to few appreciation of the morphing contest by the board members. With a total amount of 40 votes, what does this equal in terms of users per month ratio? I think this is very poor. What I would like to know is:

Do users care for our morphs?

If they do, why don't they vote? It's quite easy, picking the image that fits your taste the most and clicking submit. I don't talk about creating an entry. I merely talk about recognizing the effort that went into creating a contest entry and honouring the contestants effort with care and attention.

Next thing is: Like threeT, I might have been tempted to vote for my own entry. I still think, I did a good job and an on topic submission. But with a total of 40 votes, I recognize my vote strongly influences the outcome. Thus, I find it nearly mandatory to give my vote to a different entry and continue my life without the guilt of feeling like a cheater. Not voting at all is not an option at all for me: At 40 votes, every missing vote hints at even a lesser interest in the contest, for me and all other participants.

I suggest rediscussing the question
Should we move the contest back to the Morphs forum?
since we are guaranteed to have an appreciative audience there.

For future contests, I plan to enter again, but I do the morphing for recognition: I need feedback, and I need to know people looked at my work. Not winning is fine to me, and knowing the contest inspires other morphers to produce new stuff is a reward in itself. But seeing the contest neglected  is a dead tun-off for me.

Sorry for ranting, I even feel this might hit the wrong people. I doubt those who should listen will visit this topic any time.

Congratulations, Captain, for a fine and intriguing morph, which took quite a bit of work (as ThreeT has pointed out).  I'll contact you about the next theme.  It was nip and tuck there, one or two different votes and others might have equalled or even surpassed your entry (citing ThreeT again, as well as Marcus Porcius Cato): kudos to the runners-up too, for a couple of first-class morphs.

About moving the contest to the "Morphs forum": as I and other mods have all too often had to point out recently, there is no "Morphs Forum". We changed the forum name back to Morph Requests several months ago, the main reason being that many people proposed restricting morphs to that one forum (briefly called Morphs Forum) and treating them as pariahs elsewhere at the BEA.  That runs against the spirit and tradition of this site.  Morphs are welcome everywhere here.

We might consider transferring the contest to the Morph Requests forum if an overwhelming majority of participants wish it.  I feel that shifting the contest would be a mistake, but I'm not a dictator. It would attract less, not more, attention in the Morph Requests forum : most morphers are surely aware of the existence of this contest, and those many non-morphers who don't frequent the Morph Requests forum would not notice it at all if it were confined there.  As it is now, there is a chance that some of them might appreciate the contest.

I am sorry for confusing the subforum namings. I am also sorry for having you go through explaining this again, this is not what I intended. I understand you points, which is even more sad.

What I really am after, is bringing more attention towards the morphing contest. I understand, there are forum members who have strong objections towards morphs, but I always assumed there were also a lot of people who enjoy morphs.
A quick glance on the Morph Request forum tells me there are about 30 topics, where new content has been posted during the last week. And of course a lot more during the last month. Of course, there are posters with multiple posts, but overall I can't get rid of the feeling people do not care for voting in the morph contest polls.
I'd very much do my part to change this, if I knew how.

Hi Marcus,

A group of moderators and involved users discussed the relative merits of putting the contests in Morph Requests forum vs General Discussion forum before the first of the revived contests, and we settled on the General Discussion forum because threads posted there tend to get more views than threads posted anywhere else.

Obviously, we can't force users to vote, so the best we can do is put the contest where most users will see it, and hope that they will vote. That's where it's currently located.

However, we'll make sure there's a prominent link to each new contest in the Morph Request forum from now on.

I'm sure those of us who participate in these contests feel the same as you: it would be gratifying if there were more interest, whether in entering morphs, commenting or voting.  Unfortunately the interest in morphs has flagged since this site began many years ago: it's pretty certain that a majority of BEA participants are more interested in big breasts, whether natural or surgically enhanced, than they are in computer-enhanced.  The BEA has never been exclusively devoted to morphing (although I understand there was some disagreement about that statement quite a few years ago), so there's nothing we can do to force people to show interest in morphing (nor would we want to).
Like you, we all would be happy to see more attention given to these contests, and we can try to find some ways to accomplish that. gonZo has come up with a good idea, and I propose going back to the earlier method of posting the contest unpinned so that it would move up and down the GD Forum page in the hope that that way it would attract more attention.  It is something of a bother bumping it so that it stays on the first page, but I don't mind taking care of that.
Another idea that may help is to post all entries in the Users' Gallery as they occur, with a note directing people to the current contest thread.  I will undertake that task too.
Perhaps you have some ideas too?

Both of your suggestions sound promising. If I had suggestions of my own, I would not have hesitated to tell you. Thank you for your patience and your combined effort to solve these issues.

Considering this, I might try and start taking a more active role in commenting in the morph contest ...
