I think you should putting yourself in her shoes and try taking care of a special needs ch1ld like she does.  One needs all the positivity one can get when one is in such a situation.  Belittling her actions in the face of such adversity is disgusting, imo.  Believe me, she’s got more than enough to be thoughtful about.  Give her a break.
