Also, no attachment possible still.
When they do become possible to do, what would be the best way to let everyone know quickly?

Hover cursor over "Modify Profile" button in top left
Select "Look and Layout"
Scroll to "Topics to display per page", select 50 in dropdown menu
Click on "Change Profile" at bottom right of page.

You can also change "Messages to display per page" to 50 in the same way.

I didn't, titmouse.  Looks exactly the same to me, and it supposedly logs me in properly.  Except it doesn't.

I was finally able to login, thanks to titmouse' workaround. HUGE THANK YOU, and titmouse should get some sort of medal for it.

But there is still random goofiness on the site. For example -- I am now unable to log out.  I tried merely to test functionality (as tech types call it). My point is that there are still bugs.

Unfortunately, still only 6 users actually in the forum right now.  Perhaps a mod could put up some sort of more public announcement about the chat login workaround?  I think many of the guests are people who could login, if they knew how.

Our payment processor forced us to update BEArchive's payment form since the one we have been using will be deprecated on January 2020.

We decided to update all the sub-systems on the bearchive's domain and we found problems in the process.

We are aware that the http://forum.bearchive.com/ and http://old.bearchive.com/~addventure/ are down.

We are working on the fix and we'll create a new announcement when everything works as it should.

We ask for your patience in the meantime.

They only got the notice this month that NEXT month the payment form will be deprecated???   :o
I'm either not that impressed with their payment processor, or BotComics for leaving such an important piece of work until what is basically the last minute.  No wonder things got busted, with doing such a large update in what was probably a tearing hurry.   :P >:(
