"Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past."

So her name is not to be uttered any longer.

Considering she chose to live a life as a public figure, which is what an entertainer is, she has no legal standing to demand that she is no longer mentioned or talked about on this forum, by the performance name she chose to go by.

Further, others are correct, she had no right to demand that pictures of her that members took and owned the copyright to be removed from this site.

I encourage everyone who contributed a picture of Chelsea for which they own the copyright, to post them again in this thread.  So that they may live on.

As a person who chose to make a living in the public eye, her legal rights to privacy are not the same as an ordinary person.  She can't just demand that all traces of her past get erased including those traces she herself doesn't even own.

Just a hypothesis, but I get the impression that Chelsea's abrupt retirement and reduction weren't necessarily planned.  In the May / early June timeframe she had made mention on Twitter about how she was going to take a break, and how she was dealing with some "fairly significant health issues".  And then a few weeks later BAM.  "Chelsea Charms" as we know her is done.  Completely.  No longer exists.  I really wonder if the health issues she referred to were related to her implants and removing them was something that had to happen whether she was ready for that or not.  Obviously it was inevitable that she was going to retire at some point, but the fact that it happened so quickly and without warning makes me wonder if the decision wasn't forced on her.

Toxic much? Is it any wonder she wanted out with such attitudes from so called fans?

Couple things 1. yes she does own ALL copywrite to her image. Photos taken by another person when at an event do not nessisarily confer copywrite to the person taking the photo.
2 yes she infact can request that she be not discussed here 1 per precident for several ladies out there that we dont post or discuss, 2 as the server is in IIRC California and the LLC that runs the place is in california it has to comply with california law. Which allows exactly that. (right to be forgotten laws on the internet the prototype is the GDRP laws in Germany but california and several other states have similar law)
3 Her life her rules not our buisness
4 She doesnt owe anybody anything (see rule 2)
5 keep the Speculation to yourselves if she wants to discuss it she can do so through channels that are open to her.
6 you guys acting like this are why these ladies DONT stick around her you either get drooly weird or stalker fucking creepy.
7 After 21 years of not being able to hide, not knowing if someone likes you for you or for your figure, (as some of you guys have money ask yourselves does the chick like you for money or your wallet? shes got the same deal you do her issue was physical rather than financial but can you see how corrupting that might be to relationships?
8 and yea A LOT of the ladies that we have been passionate about  DO want to go back into civilian life without us drooling neanderthals following them around

so seriously guys stop being salty, grow up just a little bit, and hell i dunno maybe offer some help cause it sounds like she needs it.  Yall are acting like someone took away your favorite toy and while yes that might be the case your grown ass men. act like it

I have to admit I'm interested to see what she's going to do with her OnlyFans, because she obviously intends to use it as a "memoir" to talk about the 2+ decades she spent in the persona of "Chelsea Charms".  Her newsletters were always one of the most interesting parts of her website, I'm sure she has plenty of stories to share about her life as a mega-boobed breast expansion fantasy dream girl.

Look guys (and gals), let's not get too riled up.  I frankly doubt that anyone posting here has a thorough knowledge of applicable law, and in any case I don't think we should look for a donnybrook.  I've asked Chelsea to post here and give us her point of view.  Could you all simmer down until that happens? Or should I lock the thread?

dont get your hopes up kid, for all you know she could let you know about the DOWN sides the unfun stuff. Based on the way she left her last post it sounds like there was a lot of pain wrapped up in that lifes too.
What are you going to do if she tells you the whole story warts and all? Its not going to be as glamorous as you think. I fucking read a LOT and i read a lot of biographies

As an observation, one of the things that made people like Marylin Monroe so miserable is that people expected her to be amazing in bed because she was so sexy out of it. Shes a regular person under the persona. Imagine how lonely that is when 90% of the guys you meet are expecting a walking nuclear weapon in the sack,  when shed rather come home undo the bra and have someone soak and rub her feet and listen to her complain about every guy acting like a creep to her cause shes got a figure they dream about and can't have. And then realize she probably doesn't have that. Shit dude shes probably spent most of the last 21 years as lonely as the biggest shut in (and probably a good chunk of that as a shut in so) she doesnt have to play that role more than she needs to to pay the bills. Shit Keisha Evans got spotted in Walmart onece and was brutalized on people of walmart. Melonie Charms in the documentary BREASTS an american obsession about how lonely it was and how a lot of her neighbors are judgmental and how shy she was around em.  Mrs Charms, probably had that effect amplified. Mel could at least sort of disguize her figure if she really wanted to. Chelsea? it wouldnt be possible so shed have to go out and play that part ALL THE TIME. I imagine that had to be mentally exhausting. Shit I KNOW having to play a character for 8 hours a day is exhausting. I do it every day. I work IT help desk and I have to put on Mr Customer Service Happy go lucky charming mother fucker "Titmouse" every day when Im not that guy. Its a persona i put on. SHE has her Chelsea Charms persona that she had to wear not just at work but anytime she went out as a defense mechanism.

So Don't go in expecting all happiness and rose **02**. I'm sure as FUCK she has a grim side to her story too its up to her to tell it though.

^ That's fine.  That's the story I want to hear, I wouldn't expect her to pretend that everything was fantastic all the time.  She's already said that being "Chelsea Charms" was completely exhausting, both physically and mentally.

Exactly. Some people posting in this thread apparently got their "law degrees" from a box of CrackerJacks, and their "psychiatry credentials" from a raffle drawing :D

Although I'm not super-happy about the loss of two decades worth of images, let's all simmer down a bit, shall we?

What a mess.

Lotta cognitive dissonance going round.

Lotta hurt. Lotta people who supported her being asked to pay $9.99 a month to find out exactly how sad our affection made her.

Lotta white knights too. Men telling ourselves that, even if the industry was toxic, she must have looked forward to seeing us, right?

Lotta confusion too about how photo rights work and what GDPR is.

There are no winners here.

I wish Chelsea peace. We all change. Most of us have the privilege of privacy.

I wish Chelsea that privacy now. And I also feel for everyone who supported her in good faith.

But what do we know about what happened to her?

I hope we can all move on.

Hear ye, hear ye! A distinguished law firm is filing suit to stop the personage formerly known as Chelsea Charms from deleting any of her old photos from any internet archive. All aggrieved parties should immediately contact Dewey, Cheatem and Howe to participate in this righteous class action suit. Let freedom ring!  :)

Is she going through a mid life crisis or something? I get that "Chelsea Charms" was her stage persona, she's more than just boobs, and she's moving on, but holy shit is she really trying to nuke her entire presence from the internet? There wasn't any announcements or anything either, just deleting all social media and then putting weirdly negative statements behind her Onlyfans paywall. I'd really like to see what she's actually saying, this whole thing seems really odd to me.

Either she got duped into some religious fundamentalist BS or she wants to be a serious business partner at a major company or firm with a very public image and didn't want her former big-boobie life to jeopardize that, so she's scrubbing any trace of Chelsea Charm.

Or she's pregnant.

Couple things 1. yes she does own ALL copywrite to her image. Photos taken by another person when at an event do not nessisarily confer copywrite to the person taking the photo.

According to law, it does if she was in a public venue, or the venue she was in allowed the public to take pictures, and she was clearly visible in those areas that pictures could be taken in.
You have no expectation of privacy from photography in a public setting, where you're presence and actions are clearly viewable by the public.
Also, if someone paid her money to take the picture.  In that event she has sold the copyright to the person who paid to take the picture.

She can request that she not be discussed here, but there is no legal obligation for this site to comply, in California or any other jurisdiction.  The laws you cite do not apply to those who are public figures.  Entertainers, politicians, etc.  Ms. Charms chose to make her career in the public eye.  This is why the media can continue to discuss Celebs, long after they may wish to disappear, as long as they are not publishing libelous material about them.
Their activities and existence is considered part of the public domain, because they themselves put it there to make a living.  Therefor, the public has a write to discuss, and publish such regardless of the person liking it or not.

3 Her life her rules not our business

Her "rules" as you put it, only legally extend so far.  What she requested crossed the line of what she can reasonably, legally expect.

4 She doesnt owe anybody anything (see rule 2)

I'm not saying she does, but as I have explained, she doesn't actually own anything you cited in your rule 2.
Just because she is a model that we all like to look at, does not and should not give her, or anyone, the excuse to step all over other's rights.  She doesn't owe her public anything, but her public doesn't owe her anything either.  It has been a mutual business relationship.  One that has served her quite well over the years.

5 keep the Speculation to yourselves if she wants to discuss it she can do so through channels that are open to her.

As I was not speculating on her life, I will not address this comment.

6 you guys acting like this are why these ladies DONT stick around her you either get drooly weird or stalker fucking creepy.

I will lump all of this together.  The human tendency to discuss and speculate on a sudden change in attitude, or circumstance of a person of interest, in the absence of information, is completely natural and occurs often in everybody's life.  I have yet to see any speculation here that has Maligned Ms. Charms.

Further I am simply pointing out that her request was not only unreasonable, for a person who has made an entire career and a substantial amount of income from being a public figure, but it also had no basis in law.

This is no different then if Jennifer Aniston suddenly deciding to leave the public eye all together, and then demand that not only every news paper and media outlet not talk about and discuss her anymore, but to also demand that every picture ever taken of her walking down the street in public, or at events where pictures were allowed to be freely taken, be removed from all media sites forever.
She could not legally make such a demand.

Ms. Charms is no different.  She does not own this site, and she did not own that thread, and although she may have owned some of its content, she didn't own all of it.  Now this site can do what it wants.  And if it decides to honor her request, no matter how unreasonable it may be, that is their choice, but this site must also weigh the consequences of alienating members who's pictures, the members owned copyrights to, were deleted when no rules were broken.

I don't even think Ms. Charms is that guilty.  She likely didn't know exactly what was in the thread, and probably just wanted her copywritten pictures removed, but didn't make that exactly clear.  The site made the biggest mistake by simply doing a slash and burn without looking at what exactly they were deleting.  So the guilt is probably 70% this site, 30% Ms. Charms.
