Is she really Norwegian?  From the name and her appearing on American TV I'd guess her to be Yankee lass.

Actually, it's probably the fact that the corners of her mouth turn downward pretty heavily, even when she is smiling.  It creates an unusual curve that most of us are not used to seeing with a smile.
