Mike Hammer time aka Hammerettes MERGED

On July 26 the complete Mike Hammer TV series is coming to DVD.

For those who don't know, or recall, this show was required viewing for girlwatchers, particularly for women that were, uh, well-blessed you know where.

thanks for the heads-up... i've always thought the casting might've been so politically incorrect that it's the only explanation why you don't see mike hammer reruns plastered over the variety of cable channels.

the fact that i also enjoyed a lot of the storylines was a plus... but, you're right, some of the babes cast in the various bit walk-on parts were mind-boggling!

I just checked Amazon.com and it's not the show that I'm thinking of so I figure that it's not the show that most of you think of.  I guess they revived the Stacy Keach Mike Hammer show in 1997-98.  These DVDs are that show, not the one from the '80s.

I will say, the nicely upholstered Shannon Whirry stars in this one as Velda.

My memory is hazy on the big boobs on the show. I just loved the show period when I was a kid.  I was devastated when they picked up Keach for cocaine and canceled the show.

Remember when they'd always show that one woman that Hammer fixated on and play that saxaphone music?  Was she busty?

Also, if you like busty Velda's, don't forget that Pammie played Velda in a TV movie with Silk Stalking's Rob Estes.  IIRC, it took place in Miami.  Hammer in Miami!  What were they thinking?  Mike Hammer's gotta work the dingy, gray, raining streets!

Oh, this thread brings back memories of staying up until midnight on Sundays because my local station considered it "adult" entertainment. I really envied Stacey Keech. Still do. I hope he took advantage of the opportunities.

And I am sad to hear that the DVD isn't the original series. Damn!

bummer that it's not the mid'80s version - that's what i thought we were talking about!  the remade versions were okay, but had nowhere near the density of busty women as did the original.  to that end, the woman you refer to was a character called "the face" - she was portrayed by donna denton (sorry, couldn't quickly google any pics of her).  i don't remember her as particularly busty - it was the near-continuous bevy of walk-on roles they cast... seemingly you had to be in your 20s and sporting at least a DD rack to get on the show.  the '90s version never could keep pace with that standard set in the '80s.

it'll eventually be on dvd... lord knows there'll be a market here!

Well, I wasn't exactly a kid when the original Mike Hammer was on, but I do remember it fondly. I recall the utter dismay at hearing Keach had been busted, and the fear that one of my favorite weekly doses of boobage might be interrupted. I was delighted when I heard the show was finally returning, watched a couple of episodes, and realized that the Two Main Things that made it worth watching had been abandoned. And, big surprise, the show didn't last. Coincidence?

I also remember seeing local cheesy beauty pageants on TV back then, like (my personal favorite) "Miss California USA." It always had several busty contestants, and at least one winner went on to make an appearance on Mike Hammer. Blonde... big boobs... name escapes me.

The episodes after the return just weren't good... a mere shadow of it's former self. I remember the original series in the 80s. I usually got to see it at my grandparent's house, my grandfather watched it.  

Everytime I see it when I am flipping through the channels it's always been the 'second' series. I don't know why the first never sees the light of day any more. It's very tame for the kind of stuff that's been on TV in recent years. It's just large breasted women in low cut dresses. A girls gone wild commerical is allowed, but not Mike Hammer? Blah.
