Huh.  Lately at work I've been feeling stuck in a limbo of my own, 'Rod, enough to go groaning awhile in the Unemployed Thread (though I'm still employed, hoo-flippin'-ray) -- and while I do count myself as relatively lucky, it still sucks.

In some bygone time I should have been a shepherd.  Shepherds do an honorable job, yet are still permitted some peace and freedom of mind, enough to draw constellations in the sky and tell stories about them.

The day we shepherds get squeezed so hard that we no longer have time and peace enough to tell the romance of the stars, our civilization will surely die.

To be honest, we probably don't need updates to the comic as much as we need a "Hello, we're here, and this is how things are going" from you.

Because we care about you, and a prolonged absence only makes us imagine the worst....

So frolic, so gay, and so green, so green, so green;
And then did I unto my true love say,
"Sweet Peg, thou shalt be my Summer's Queen."

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement.
All of you have been amazing and I feel bad that
we can't do more here with the comic but as it is
our lives have just been full up with too much crazy!

My health still gets me down and Nim has been very
busy at his office. We plan to take a vacation soon
because we have not been out of town in years!
 >:(
I am sorry we have not been good about keeping
things going on the comic and I really do want to
tell more of the story. The problem is finding a bit
of time when I don't feel so miserable or Nim has
some energy left at the end of the day.
 :-\
Yes, rtpoe we are still alive and kicking!

Bunny hugs to everyone and with luck more will
follow!!!

Real life always takes precedence... there's no need to feel bad Kith... we're all happy to enjoy whatever the two of you put together as time permits. :)

My little career of over ten years at this Forum is finally winding down, so I would like to use one of my very last posts to make clear that I HAVE NOT BEEN BANNED. ;D  Indeed, by some miracle, in over twelve thousand posts in all that time I have never once been banned -- I'm not even sure veterans like MunchWolf or pedonbio can make that claim.  I've had a few warnings, or messages to the effect of "We're nicely giving you a few minutes to edit something immediately," but I've never been kicked out -- THAT has been achieved far more grievously by various bouts of computer failure. >:(  But it's been a good run, and I believe I owe my luck to being so doggedly textual within so pictorial a site, thereby neatly sidestepping issues of copyright, or specifically forbidden sources and individuals, or the (subjectively apparent) age of models, or anything like that.

So, since I've not been banned, I continue to hold out a little hope that my avatar, beauteous latex model pioneer Melanie Tipps, may yet see a little more KC Strip adventure, or even, please God, be restored to her former abundance.  I am so grateful for all the sweet attention that Kithara and Nimrod have shown her.

There are certain enduring gold standards.  Our Archive has seen many sexy princesses ranging from sweet to astounding, but for me the enduring queen remains Vixen Lamoore.  Similarly, this strip is a unique standard.  More than simply a perpetual party for avatars to come hang out, it has been an album, a chronicle, a mystery, a comedy variety show, and quite simply The Place To Be Seen.

Yet even more importantly than the Strip, I will continue to wish Kithara and Nimrod all the best.  Their presence has been warm, kind, and funny, and I hope it may not only endure but flourish as well.

And now, in truest Melanie form, I need to go perform a little arithmetic. ;)

I'm just noting that it has been more than a year since the last episode, and I certainly understand how hard it is to be creative on any kind of regular basis. But thank you for all you have done, folks.

Just for the record, I had a two-week vacation a few years ago for accumulated violations. I've wondered if I could do that in the rest of my life...
